It might be a bit of a classic but it's also a depressing and horrible film.

bum fun !

Brokeback Mountain is more your film then.
#5
yes its defonot a kids film but ray winston is a good actor worth a squid to watch just not in the greenhouse .
#6
Worth 1 quid for sure, HOT.
#7
Is this the steelbook version? Hot even if it isn't.
#8
I remember when it came out and borstals were still very much in operation. For those of us back then with Doc Martens and a bit of attitude it was a must see film because it struck a chord with the youth of the day. I can't see why it would be of much interest 30 years later though. Maybe it's just of historical value.
#9
no its not the steelbook edition
#10
Who'se the daddy now ;-)
#11
top movie.
#12
If you want to see scum, just flick over to BBC parliament.
#13

The irony of this film is that it was made as a deterrent to teenagers to try and keep them out of borstals but it was given an X (18) certificate. So when they were old enough to actually see it they would have been too old for borstal but old enough for prison instead.

Loads of these in Hounslow Poundland today

I brought it a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was cheap at £2.68p...............

Good point. Never thought of that. Wasn't it banned for years anyway?

Should be shown in schools to young kids - kept me on the straight and narrow seeing this.

This film is probably the reason why I hate gardening too.
#22
I've got the steelbook version but I'd gladly buy this again at just a quid.
The 2nd disc has the original tv play and is very interesting seeing the difference between this and the film version.

maybe because back then the borstals were a short sharp shock treatment, not like today where the "young Offenders Institutes" are holiday camps compared to back then.

BTW this isnt from my experience, i had a friend that "visited" them & i have to say it worked for him.
#27
if it has the tv version on disk 2 , check out a young Frank Gallagher from Shameless, he plays Archer.
#28
Good movie, great price. Picked up the same version in Morrisons recently for £3.

You seem to know too much. Are you sure you haven't got a bit of previous?

Once you're an MP you won't need to buy it from Poundland. Buy it anywhere and state it as a necessity for your second home!

Good price though. I paid £3 in Fopp just a few months ago.

definately not . I didnt, thats for sure.

I understand that democracy is the lesser of the known evils but voting for somebody that secures your vote by promising A,B&C then delivers X,Y&Z until 6 months before the next election where they give some of A,B&C defeats the point.

Benign dictatorship is more honest really :whistling:
