It mentions 10% cashback on Comet and on the form but point 3 of the T & C's says 0% cashback. Also does it say what type of card you will get? Class 4 etc?

10% cashback would make this £286.38.

Says currently unavailable on Currys - and 10% cashback would make it £360 as it's still £400.

And I don't know what sort of card you get - I assume it'll be a decent one since it's a 32GB...

it says something to do with store demo, i dont think they will give you sd card there and then. iam on wii so cant read the pdf at the moment.

The card you get is a Panasonic 32gb sdhc Class 4.
Reading some reviews it appears that the Panasonic Class 4 card can actually be more reliable at maintaining sustained write speeds than some manufacturers class 6 or 10 cards.
Used mine last week for the first time and it worked great on the HG setting.
A couple of scenes looked weird for the first couple of seconds but these were filmed in very low light and i had the pre-rec on when i didnt need it. Might try again with the pre-rec off.
Overall though a brilliant card and a much better deal than the 10% off.

Yes the offer is either 32Gb card or 10% cashback, it seems the 3 year warranty is for other models.

Not a bad price, note that~ when charging the battery on this camcorder, you must have the battery in the camcorder for it to charge. This does not have a separate charger like some/must camcorders. I went for the SD600, much, much better. Only £491.16 @ amazon with £30 amazon vouchers back.

I paid £318 for this on Friday using the code. I am sending off the form to Panasonic today to hopefully claim the 32 Gb card. The camera comes with no memory card so a 32Gb card is better value to me than 10% cashback. Some forums claimed they send a class 4 Panasonic branded card, but I'll have to see.

The .pdf claim form you download from Comet seems to have all the 1's removed, so 10% cashback becomes 0%, but also the postcodes, dates etc all have the 1's missing. The same form is available from Panasonic directly and it has not been corrupted. The promotion is very clear that you have to buy the camcorder in store, after a demo, therefore to get the web price and use the promotion (using 5OFF) you have to select the collect from store option.

On the Q&A section of the comet website associated with this camera, they say the promotion has ended, but then they point at an older promotion - so it seems they are not sure. On the main product page they make a big fuss of it.

The camera itself looks great, its really small and has great reviews. I was also split between this and the Sony, the review and some features (especially the optical image stablization) sold it to me. I have not had much time to play with it as its a present for my wife (and I don't yet have a memory card !).

I was also tempted to buy it from Amazon, its only a pound more £319.99 but you also get a free £30 amazon gift certificate which might end up being a more reliable discount (and you don't have to drive to comet to pick it up).

I bought the SD60 earlier in the year - and very pleased with it. I also bought a separate charger for £9.99 (can't remember which site). I bought this one because of the 5mp still camera facility and more powerful optical zoom.

I bought the earlier model SD20 last year - and haven't yet got round to selling it.

... and I'm pretty sure the free 3 year warranty off does not apply to this model, only the H85, T50 and S50 models are listed on my claim form

how much better is the SD60 over the SD20 as i have an SD20 and considering changing.

I originally considered a Sony Handycam since they're doing the £50 cashback deal but more people seem to opt for the SD60.

According to Panasonic you have to wait up to 40 days for them to send out the SD card so I will probably opt for the 10% cashback or 3 year warranty...I want a memory card now, not in a month!

Check out the Panasonic website.

If you buy the Panny from an online retailer and get them to sign the form off you get

1. 32gb card or 10% cashback (via one form)
2. Free 5 year guarantee (via another form)

Only get the offers if you get the demo.

And like the Blu Ray Recorder offer, there are two separate forms but you get two packs of goodies.

Download the claimn form and take it in the shop and buy before 31st August

Print off the warranty and take it to the store.

Ask them about the form for a demo which they should have.

If they turn you down ask for a refund. Its only 24 hours so they must give it to you. To avoid the fuss they will give it to you.

A 32 gb card is £35 min. The guarantee another £80 min.

Well worth fighting for.

I got an SD100 last year in Dixons for around £350 with their accidental cover included - it was £450 but I took it back, and went to a shop which had it for £100 less in their clearance.

In which case you can no longer have the memory card...but it's still a decent price for the camcorder!
