Can anyone please advise what is included in this tariff in addition to the 400 mins / 500 texts? Does 02 let you surf the internet?

Thanks

Not good reviews thought i'm afraid.

Sony Ericsson K850i Review

Phone rating: 3/5

In a nutshell: The eagerly awaited Sony Ericsson K850i should have been the best camera phone ever, with a 5 megapixel camera, xenon flash, autofocus & automatic lens cover. But problems with the keypad and camera mean that we can't in all honesty recommend it.

I have this phone and I love it.....the keypad (although fiddly at first) is something you get used to very quickly.
The camera is as good as an N95 if not better and takes high quality photos.

Dont be put off by others reviews, try it for yourself

Wish I had got a deal like this

All the reviews are from October and November last year, most new phones have glitches/teething problems so those who buy when the phone first comes on the market will always encounter problems – The problems are mostly resolved by the manufacturers later on.

Tip – Do not buy phones when they are launched, let they be established and all minor faults will be rectified on later batches.

A sad thing about that review website is that you can’t post any more reviews once it reaches 100 and most reviews are within the 2 months of launch.

There have been many phones which me, my family and friends have bought on nice deals (9-12 months free on 12 month contract) with no problem with the handsets, these deals normally come on when the phone gets more than 6 months old and the retailer trying to clear old stock to make room for newer models. By this time all the intial issues are resolved.

I have just received my final cheque for the popular Nokia 6300 offer that was on last July, I would definitely recommend P4u as they give you 60 days to claim.

keypad is fine until it breaks

I had this phone , beware too many faults to be bothered with , cameras good , but my n95 is better, if your an se fan youll probably live with it for a few months till it screws up , this is my 3rd contract sony phone and everyone was returned at some point during the contract , im still on my first n95 12 months later.

My brothers k850i has been replaced... first one worked for 6 weeks then the touchscreen stopped working, replacement arrived with the touchscreen not working... 3rd one has been fine for the past week though! You could always sell it once it arrives and buy something like a Samsung G600?
#17
I had one for ten days and returned it. Love SE phones, but the keypad was unusable for me, with buttons the size of the studs on Lego bricks - I had to hit them with my fingernail to make them register. Great camera but it didn't compensate. Note that keypad was abandoned in all later models.

Isn't everything?

Hello all,

i got this phone from phones4u a couple of weeks ago on the 200 mins and texts contract @ 8 months cashback from 12 month contract and £60 quidco at the time.

Apart from not sending the battery with the phone (i called and then it took them around 9 days to get it to me) it all seemed good.

Main issue is the camera - the flash on many occasions doesnt sync with the camera resulting in 50% dark photos in my house. Elsewhere, so far it has been fine. I checked the forums, its a common problem and even though it has the latest firmware on it, it still is a problem which isnt resolved.

On the plus side though, an unexpected benefit was that it came unlocked as so i could use any network on it, which saved me some money i would have spent in unlocking it.

Hi Haroon, You may want to see if your firmware is upto date using the SEUS.
#22
This phone is pretty awful.

Mine has been sent back for repair a few times in under a year. The software has been kept up to dates constantly, but it still crashes eventually. I have friends who have had the same problem.

I actually use my W810i and keep my K850i as a back up.

Avoid!
#23
Kaptain Kopter the SEUS has recently changed to do a clean flash of the firmware. So if I was you I would back up my data, use SEUS and select the continue anyway button if you get the option to do so. What network are u on and what version is your firmware?
#24
Phone is absolute dogshite avoid it at all costs! We've gone thru 4 in my household, it's also heavy as fork!
#25
Can I use the SIM provided with the phone with my current phone (I love my Palm) and through the K850i away? I mean, is there any relation between the contract, the SIM and the phone?

Another question: Has anyone had any experience with the redemption from P4U?

Re Quidco, I bought a PAYG phone from them and quidco went smoothly.

Cheers.
#26
This phone is a dog so many have gone wrong software and touch screen in particular. I would avoid.
#27
This phone should come with a health warning...buy at your own risk!!!
I currently have one and the touch screen "soft keys" have screwed up so any number key I press results in the menu being displayed...it will then go into messages and try to send texts or edit contacts like it has a mind of its own! A turd would be more useful.
I got so infuriated with it the other night (after a few bevvies) I attempted to snap it in two...lol....unfortunately I only succeeded in knackering the display and now have a thick black line of dead pixels!
I could send it off for repair but quite frankly, cannot be bothered with it anymore so I'm on the lookout for a new cheap phone. As soon as I get it this SE brick is going under the hammer...literally! I look forward to that day, it will be most satisfying!

i have both this and the n95, the camera is not the same or better, its no where near the N95.
rubbish fone in my opinion. kept crashin, freezing, gets fingerprints all over it, just an all round pain.
#29
Would anyone who has taken up this offer up care to reply with their opinion of this phone?

Has anyone else who have gone for this offer have the same problem as me?

My phone arrived last Tuesday but has still not been connected, it says SIM INACTIVE.
I spoke to P4U and they advised at the moment they have an issue with o2 regarding the tariff so until this gets resolved the SIM will not be activated, the woman said I can return the handset if I want as this is still within the refund period.
I quite like the phone so I will wait a bit before returning.

Thanks,
