This is a Seagate Pro drive unlike one sold by Scan.
Diffference is:
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/external

Net price after quidco is £100 (choose 2-3 business days delivery) and no forum membership/ posts required for 100 quid price.

Ideal for accessing your content from anywhere, sharing it with anyone, and syncing it to almost anything, FreeAgent Pro allows you to automatically move your content to multiple locations, share your pictures online and automatically update without even thinking about it, and many more.

Capacity - 1 TB
Form Factor - 3.5"
Interface Type - IEEE 1394 (FireWire) / Hi-Speed USB / eSATA-300
Data Transfer Rate - 400 Mbps (FireWire)/480 Mbps (Hi-Speed USB)/3.0 Gbps (eSATA)
Buffer Size - 32 MB
Spindle Speed - 7200 rpm
I ordered mine yesterday and it's already on it's way (although I selected 2-3 days delivery option). And yes, it's DSG retails group company.
There is a discrepency in cache 16mb or 32 mb. I have tried my best but couldn't find it online. I will update once I get the disk.
Update:
Cache is 32mb for 1TB disc and 16mb for 500gb and 750gb disks (package arrived tuesday- order was placed sunday night). Quidco tacked at 5%. Hence net price updated as well.

I can't believe Microwarehouse.

Their website stated that they had 32 in stock so I placed an order with 2-3 business day delivery... 5 days later, payment taken but no item. So I call them and they tell me its out of stock and that they are not expecting new stock until 2nd September!!!

I've ordered from many websites before and they only take your payment once they have checked their stocklist, assigned a buyer an item and then dispatch... Their customer support team were unhelpful and rude... They have offered me a re-fund but I can't seem to find this item anywhere else on the net for a reaonable price.

Has anyone else found the 1TB Seagate Freeagent (PRO) anywhere else (and not with another DSG company)?

Thanks!

Thanks.

Looks like it's out of stock everywhere... I obviously missed out! Does anyone recommend any other external hard drives, preferrably fast access and looks good! (I know it's subjective...)

It's in stock at Play for £109.99.

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5307400/Seagate-1-TB-FreeAgent-Pro-3-5-External-eSATA-USB-2-0-Firewire-Hard-Drive/Product.html

I think the £5.00 Play voucher is still floating around, and Quidco should bring it down to more or less the Microwarehouse price.

I'm still deliberating whether to buy one myself, but just bought a 1Tb Firewire Mybook from Amazon for £123.50.
