Basically you cannot access the small 8gb ssd pay yourself. The hard drive intelligently moves anything you use on a regular basis to it to speed it up. quicker than a normal hard drive but still slower than an ssd

Probably a good bet for archiving/ backup, rather than as a C drive.

Take a look at any reviews/comparisons of any SSHD and you'll soon see why it's a much better idea to get a small SSD and another HD for data.

The opposite to be honest. The ssd part would not be effective at all as just a storage drive. You need this as your c drive

Definitely not for backup, it is for system drive.

Shame the 2tb isn't on sale

This is slower version 5400rpm, looking for confirmation anyone

Don't bother to buy a hybrid. Its no big difference as performance. Like somebody said better buy a real ssd+hdd.
#15
Dont like Seagate personally but its an alright in its own right

As a 3.5" drive it makes little sense unless it was only a few pounds more than a normal drive.

As a 2.5" drive it made a lot of sense but with the price drop of SSD's over the last year these are getting less so.

When I got my original (500gb/4gb) 2.5" drive for £100 or so a 120gb SSD cost about £400. Now the same size (480gb) SSD costs £135. But a 240gb SSD for less than £65 is the sweetspot.
