That 4TB Hitachi sounds worse value (115+1/3rd = 153.33!) plus the extra hassle of disassembling an external drive caddy. I read recently that the hard drive firms (all 3 of them) are intending to price gouge end-users well into next year, using the Thailand flood excuse for an extra year longer than they should. As far as I know, pretty well all hard disk manufacturing is now back to pre-flood levels (and has been for months), so even accounting for fulfiling backlogged demand, we should be seeing price drops now.

Instead, we're getting barely moving HDD prices - this 115 price point has been on and off for about 3 months now (i.e. only considered a temporary price match point and not a permanent one). What this means is that the hard disk manufacturers are shooting themselves in the foot and making SSDs - which are continuously dropping in price as daily offers flood HUKD! - much more attractive this year than they were last year.

In fact, SSD prices (and performance) are so good now that anyone who hasn't yet bought a 120GB SSD to boot from and put their most popular applications on really needs their head examining, because the 50p per GB SSD price point is actually becoming a reality! Of course, adding one of these 3TB babies with the SSD is the way to go.
