They seem perfect for my qnap ts-459 pro II

May take the plunge, have not seen the 3tb at this price for a while.

Make sure your motherboard/controller can handle 3tb HDDs as I am not sure all do.

I'm gonna wait. I need more storage but not urgently and prices seem to be dropping again.

An ok price but needs to drop approx £25-£30 before I purchase.

    too much, maybe £90

I wish this website was less 'HOT SSD DEALS' tbh, I would love it if manufacturer's started to significantly drop HDD prices to pre-flood. This is a step in the right direction, so hot, but still disappointing. I'll end up just buying an SSD if prices continue to fall.

38.00 per TB seems the best price right now. so heat.

Going to buy one as only have 200gb left, and filling up fast,

Is it likely that Amazon will match this ? Ideally want to make use of my 2nd Amazon Prime trial ...

Will buy a 2TB of these when they go below £60 again probably - don't need it until late September so fingers crossed. (Then again, at this rate SSDs won't be much more expensive than HDDs so if 512GB SSDs are £120 or less I'll just buy a few of those :p - there's my wishful thinking a) that they'll be that cheap and b) that I'll have that much money ;))

i need another HD , preferably the bigger the better (hoping the hd doesnt fail that is.) but im hoping prices continue to keep dropping.

I was gutted when i got a 120GB SSD a couple months back for £110 and then 2 weeks later they dropped by £40ish - if id have waited i could have got the 250GB model for £40 more!

don't count or HDD drops at SSD rates, if you need one now, this is a good price, I paid a bit more for my 3TB. They will be cheaper in the future is a fact, how long will it take to get a meaningful drop on these is anyones guess.

I grabbed one of these at £125 a few weeks ago. It's already died. Fricking seagate.

Much prefer samsung drives, had comparatively few of them fail on me, but with any new hard drive, they are most likely to fail in the first few weeks or not for years, so keep anything you're putting on them at first backed up.

I had a seagate drive in my dell for 5 years, and it was always used, formated and used again, no issues.

cheap... but its seagate, now rated down there with maxtor. not for me and I have about 50tb of storage sitting around and would never touch them. fujitsu for me.

    50tb ???!!! :O :O :O of what !!???

    Business critical data, databases etc.

I cannot emphasise enough, just how unreliable Seagate drives are and how poor their support is. If cheap is your priority and the data on your drive doesn't matter, then its perfect. If you want your data to not crash and burn, then get Fujitsu, Samsung or WD Black drives. Oh and never ever think about putting Segate SATA drives onto a hardware raid controller.. This is almost always fatal to your data.

Have you seen the prices on those Fujitsu drives though, 300.00 for 2tb, no thanks.
