PS been lurking on HUKD for some time but first deal I've been able to find before others have already posted. Happy hunting!

recently bought a 2tb (only needed a 2 to pair with another in a home server).

easy enough to get out of the chassis to put in a tower/server unit if you require.

how does this compare with WD my cloud?

It isn't marketed as a personal "Cloud" so this is probably the biggest tech difference.

Not sure how the mobile device back up works but willing to give it a try.

That was Expansion, this is Backup Plus, marketed as a slightly more expensive version. They are really just the same.

As the enclosed HD in the Expansion are the normal 64MB 7200rpm HD, unless the Backup Plus enclosed as faster/better HD.

Can you remove the drive without voiding any warranty stickers?

Don't think there is any warranty stickers on the item itself, I can only speak for the Expansions. So I guess if you are careful, you can reassemble it and take it to warranty.

By any chance, could someone advice the model number of the enclosed HD of the Backup Plus? Many thanks.

The back up plus model can also be connected to a mac right out of the box whereas expansion needs reformatting. Might help any mac users wondering - without going into tech info you can also use it interchangeably between pc and mac without reformatting as well.

True, but it only takes a moment to reformat in Mac, it is better to use GPT which requires a format anyway.
