  Hmmm, looks a good deal, but have you seen the reviews? I don't usually base my purchases on reviews, but in this case the phrase, "If it's too good to be true..." springs to mind.
  
  It's a shame Seagate have acquired Samsung's HDD division as they were always my first port of call. Back to WD I guess.

  Shocking reviews id say clear of this deal. i know people have different successes with different manufacturers but when you read reviews like that it does put you off. Really good price by the way but too much of a risk.

  what exactly is shocking?
  
  one guy moans about warranty being slashed to 1 year, the other one bought Seagate external drive (how does that matter, this is internal drive, different model etc.) and the last one moans about packaging.
  
  amazon reviews are full of noobs giving 1 star reviews, just because the market place seller's item hasn't arrived, because item comes with European mains plug with adaptor instead of UK cable or because they are too stupid to read the manual, so just say item doesn't work.

  interesting, i was under the impression these were supposed to be very good drives. 1tb platters, sata 3 (not that it matters on hdds), and low power consumption. i think it's a good price for the current situation

  buy it, flash the drive with the new firmware Seagate released 2 weeks ago, say goodbye to the problems the drive had originally hence the poor reviews - job done :)
