I've just had a really bad experience with Scan - they were meant to deliver my GTX460 on Wednesday, but on the Wednesday morning around 10am I got an email from them saying that City Link had taken my parcel to the wrong depot and would now deliver 24 hours later - as you can appreciate I wasn't best pleased having booked the day off work, and now having to book a second day.

I obviously complained, and yesterday evening Scan came back to me with a so called "gesture of goodwill", which was free courier delivery on my next order - given that I obtained free delivery in any case by being an active member on AV Forums obviously makes this so called "gesture of goodwill" a bad joke.

Given this response from Scan i'm loathed to buy anything else from them again, especially as I could have bought the same item some £20 cheaper from Dabs if I was willing to wait for delivery.

I'd be inclined to blame city link rather than Scan. From my personal experiences City Link have always delivered poorly whether it be the box being squashed/damaged or delivering right at the end of the day.

I agree that it is a City Link failure, but Scan have chosen this partner to fulfil their orders and have worked with them over 10 years - therfore, as Scan do not offer an alternative courier they have to share responsibility and should cover issues off like this in their contract with City Link.

It's not Scan's fault, it's all down to City Link, I've used Scan for years with no problems and their customer service is usually top end vs City Link who just don't care. I can't stand City Link and would much rather use another courier firm for my Scan Deliveries but at the end of the day when you get FREE Delivery (being either a Hexus Forums or AVForums member) you can't really complain!

If Dabs we're that much cheaper then you should have used them and just gone to the depot when you get carded for not being in, saves waiting around all day n such.

Oh and I vote Cold because it's £99.24 via that link and not £83.97 as stated.

Agree totally. Not sure I could envisage a delivery cock up by the courier so they were 24 hours late on a delivery that was free anyway being the baddest thing they could have done to you.

I'd suggest you take it up on the Scan forums on Hexus.net where they will deal efficiently with your complaint.

I wouldn't call that 'really bad' TBH, at least you got an email at 10AM rather than then making you wait all day and not turn up, as what usually happens to me. Good of them to let you know about it.

Hey, there is a link from AVForums here, I think it takes a day to be activated, and you need to have made 20 or more posts on AVForums.

Cheers Bob. I didn't realise you had to post 20 times.
