It's the external power source that lets it down for me. Otherwise a good price.

I have 1 of these drives and its good. Plug and play........and the icon in "My Computer," even comes up in the same colour of the external drive........which is nice.

I have one of these and paid twice as much, what a bargain.

It's a great piece of kit, quiet and sleek.

Gutted I bought a Buffalo 80GB for £29.99 6 weeks ago... More space would be useful! Nice spot!

All the 3.5 inch drives you will see need a power supply.

You are looking at the wrong thing - it is a 2.5 inch drive you want, usually a good deal more expensive than this, and slower - but powered by the USB bus (uses 1 or 2 sockets, depending)

Good deal.
Just as a comparison, play.com is selling this for £44.99 delivered, compared to £40.77 delivered in this deal.
However, some might prefer to buy from play.com to avoid the ****** ebuyer customer service, especially since the price of play.com becomes slightly more attractive after Quidco.
Also, add another item costing £5 at play.com to bring total order to £50 to use the £5 off £50 voucher.

£40.77 inc delivery, you can get a 2.5" passport one from Comet for £49.99 if you prefer the smaller form factor

Come on people, this is large 3.5" hard disk with external energy supplier.
Is better to invest around 90£ in 1TB or around 50£ in any small 2.5" portable hardisk (usb powered) than this

COLD !
#13
having an external psu is a good thing when your talking about an external HD - much less heat in the main package is def. a + point unless you need something very portable

I own 2 of these and cant fault them , very quiet & quick
#14
i would say its an avg deal as its a 3.5'' disk..
need external power supply

Agreed - but if you can only spare £40 and need < 250 GB ......

For this to be average, there should be some more expensive and some cheaper, so where can I buy a 250 Gb external drive cheaper?
#17
They are good drives, but I would opt for the Pro version which comes with e-sata and firewire interfaces.

Basically same as USB but faster.

edit; USB 2.0 and FireWire = 400Mbps,
eSATA's = 2,400Mbps
