Noticed this in my local Tesco, down from £100+ to £60.

Noticed its £70+ elsewhere thats without the free CA internet security, which is worth £50 alone.

It had a sticker on it too which stated that you get the 1 year of CA Internet Security for free for up to 3 PCs.

Nice Price - ordered 2 of these last week from Amazon for £64 each (didn't have the security) - They have a 2 year warranty too.

Voted hot for a good price for the 1TB drive , but i'd forget about getting it because it comes with CA Internet security.

Check out numerous reviews of CA, that show it to be resource hungry, appalling interface and poor protection in comparison with Kaspersky, Nortonand Trend etc:?

already posted and has been ongoing for nearly a month now

I bought it from the last post. Good drive, haven't loaded the extra software, with AVG antivirus free and Zone alarm free and Spybot free, and all of them excellent in the reviews, I can see no point changing things.

Does the CA internet security work with windows 7 64bit?

Poor Windows people.

lol

Not a fan of CA products - but that's just my own personal bias ;-) - if it's truly "worth £50" then you'll be needing to pay £50 for your next years support or get a new security suite...
The drive alone is a hot price

Thanks for drawing my attention to this - I picked up mine this afternoon.

Interestingly they had the same box in the shelves for both £59.97 AND £79.97. Guess which I bought?

Great drive, for a great price. backed up all my files and still has 850gb to spare! Really dont see why anyone gos for the smaller one when this is 1TB and will last you ages and is only £60.
As for the software, well I didnt bother installing it either. Avira is enough for me as im pretty careful, and I have a full version of norton internet security 2009 but I uninstallled it as its just to resource hoggy and intrusive (even if the box claims its the opposite). And likes to do scans without you asking it, I know you can turn it off etc but i really cannot be bothered. I wish they just put a huge big Off button when you right click on the norton icon but they dont, you have to go into the app and press a radiobutton lol.

can anyone say why 2 diff price tag for this same drive?one without CA internet sec.(£75.99,code205-0171) and another one is the OP(£59.97,code207-2219).is there any diff in quality, size or modification like WD my passport had?
And ppl who love freeagent desk can also check on- their seagate FeeAgent silver desktop 1.5TB has fallen cheaper (£104.97) than their freeagent desktop 1TB(£129.97) version.thnks.

hi guys,u can ignore my query now as price gone back to normal again.looks like tesco starting to fluctuate price like Amazon!

The reason is that buying a terrabyte when you don't need it is not worth it.
By the time you actually need all the extra capacity, they will be half the price that they are now.

Same as the person that got it for the Wii. It will never be full of Wii games, so kind of defeats the purpose of spending more on it.

have the unreliability issues with these drives been solved yet ?

those links date back to Oct last year, but the last is this year, so just curious if they have this sorted, as i tend work drives pretty hard, and whilst all of my internal drives are seagate, and 2 out of 3 of my externals are seagate, i've only had one that sounded a bit off, but never died.... that said, they were all selected carefully to predate these latest click of death reports, or i bought the enterprise versions

btw, there are currently vouchers for £5 off when you spend £50 at Tescos Direct (code TDX-24R8)

So if your ordering online to collect in store, then you can get this for £54.97 :)
