First post so please be nice...
not sure if this is a repost but when posting this, the thing came up saying someone else had it up at £64.99

I remember this hard drive being £59.97 in my local Tesco (Hamilton, Leicester) so certainly cheaper than that.

shame i just bought the MJ samsung...

that's a portable drive, this is desktop / 3.5"
This is the same as the Amazon one I believe? Still good though :)
shame is same as my post :(
Any decent e-sata caddies that this could be put in?
It seems to me that approx £50 is fast becoming the "norm" for a 1TB external HDD.... so with that in mind haven't voted either way on this deal.
anyone know if this drive powers down when you shut down the PC, or if it has an on/off switch on it? cheers

It will power down when you switch off pc :)
good price, but.... there seem to be be many reviews (play/amazon) about click of death on seagate external drives - google 'seagate click of death'
I have the 1.5tb version of this drive and find it a little slower than my other external drives. It tends to lock up at times and occasionally clicks when writing to or accessing it.

"hotchill" mentioned clicking in above reply and I have also read on several forums that a lot of people are not happy with this drive because of the clicking at first and then breaking down.

I only use mine for movies etc. attached to a media player and not to store anything of any importance so until it breaks down I will continue using it. It has a 2 year warentee so if the clicking persists I will send it back for a replacement before the end of it.
