Is this powered by 2 USB plugs?

Shouldn't be. This is just a slightly thicker version of a standard laptop Hard Drive.

Shouldn't be. This is just a slightly thicker version of a standard laptop Hard Drive.
Some of the larger storage devices come with a 2 USB cable for more power, but still can be run from one USB

great price, heat added :p

Will never trust Seagate again after 2 of my 1.5tb drives died due to firmware rather than neglect or anything else that was my fault

Look at their forums of people complaining about not only loosing data but the drives becoming physically unusable due to firmware!!
#23
The deal is certainly a good price although I too have resisted buying Seagate due to the negative response in forums. I suppose it is a matter of luck - they all tend to go after a while.

Heat added.

It was posted here, but it expired very quickly as there were only around 50 available.

From what I have read they are slightly bigger than the 500GB seagate drive but not by much (a few mm).

I think it only requires 1 USB lead.

Yeah - I noticed that the store sold 59! Just my luck that I missed it, as I would have definitely bought a couple of them. Anyways will keep looking for a cheap/portable terabyte, as I need a few of them. Now that Samsung HD division has been gobbled-up by Seagate there is going to be an influx of the GoFlex brand.

Samsung Hard Disks as a brand are dead - remember Maxtor? (who were pretty **** anyway)

Type "seagate click of death" into Google. Freezing.
#33
There are always nightmare reports for hard drives though - you could substitute 'seagate' with any manufacturer and get the same results. Also, there are far more positive reports than negative.

Anyone serious about backing up their files will have a couple of backups in play anyway.

I think this is a good deal.
#34
Good deal, but will wait till they drop below £50 for similar spec
#35
It has just got even cheaper £59.80!.

Same here - I'm waiting patiently(ish) for the £50-1TB.
#37
This drive is a double height one, description is misleading!
