Is that saying it is good or bad?

Last time these came up on offer i bought 2 of them and the first failed and was replaced under warranty in 3 months and the second just failed after 9 months and is going back. Lost 5tb of data so far. One of them was at work as well so it wasnt even the the same pc, same files etc etc

Crap drives and i would avoid them. Goood price on the deal tho. Heat for the deal but i would never buy another seagate

Same price at amazon and PC world.

Don't buy it if you run Windows 8.1. I got one yesterday, DOA spent hours trying to get it to work. Replaced it this morning, new one was visible under Win 8.1 - it was there in Disk Manager for a short period of time and then disappeared, never to be seen again. Tried it on Win 7 laptop, nothing, tried USB 2 cable only, nothing. Overall spent 4 hours trying to get it working. Replaced it with WD 2TB drive, working truly "plug and play" as I was expecting - plugged in and is already doing a backup.

Is this better than the Seagate STBV3000200 that's on Amazon for the same price? The Amazon one has got really got reviews.

That has absolutely nothing to do with Windows 8.1

Why is this so hot when the Toshiba one (which is very good) has been around the £75 for months and months?

Maybe people think it's a bus-powered 2.5 inch portable drive. It isn't - it's a mains-powered desktop drive.
