Would be hot if it was usb powered
or hotter if it were a semi-detached house or a hovercraft.

Easy as pie to remove get a plastic spudger insert into gap in base and trace it around the case it'll undo the clips.

this was £84.99 last week, i purchased an over priced open box one for £81.99 i think which brought it down to around £65 with the 20% off warehouse deals, so this is cheapest about for new as far as i know.
#16
Yes please....will have some of that!!! ;)

How is that relevant to an external hard drive?

I don't think I could explain it to you. Perhaps somebody else might.

Do you reckon you another drive could be popped into the enclosure and work fine? I'd use this to replace a 1tb drive in my current computer, then bung that 1tb drive in this enclosure for some additional xbox games.

Assuming the controller board in the external enclosure allows it then yes physically there is no issue.

i didn't quite get the relevance either? although full of clever clogs on this app. Just out of interest..is it possible to get 3tb that's not mains powered? Sarcastic answers not required pls.

FYI: That method was for the Seagate Backup Plus

I've opened a Seagate Expansion but the method is slightly different.

The principle is similar, you insert the plastic spudger and move it around the case edge to undo the clips, you don't have to pry them off like in this video.

Amazon have a few 3tb and 4tb that are powered by usb.
Around £25 per tb seems standard for a mains powered desktop hard drive, hence why I don't think this is such a great deal.

Theres a 4tb portable drive out i think... you pay a heafty premium for that though. Seagates portable version of this is £80 on Amazon I think though.

Rather have a self powered drive myself, dont want a usb drive that draws power from a usb port.
