I dont usually disagree with you Brilly, but that a tad bit unfair.

This is cheap for this particular drive at the moment, with those others you mentioned being ever so slightly elusive to the masses.

yeah it probably is the cheapest right now and usually i can see both sides but the increase in price to get something ' better' is so small here.
1TB hitachi desktop drive is 48.97 in tesco - add 1.03 of junk and apply 10quid code = 40
the portable isn't at tesco anymore but less than a week ago was a 37.99 seagate portable and its fairly common.
i see the other side (honest) but in this case the extra layout is so small for the return.
also the bonus of avoiding play.
