Yes.

Nothing new. It's been that way for the last 5 years. Hard drive £/GB does not seem to go down.

I wonder what the disk inside is....

Do these require power supply?

Do these require power supply?

Yes, these have a 12V 3.5" HDD inside

I imagine so, I've got the 6TB version and that works fine.

Set-up is straightforward. High-speed USB 3.0 and 2.0 connectivity offers plug-and-play functionality on your pc without the need of an external power supply.

Glad I waited to at least see the £10 price drop, so becoming more attractive now.

Its still more expensive than it should be.
HDD prices have went up from last year, seems odd.

The weakening of the Pound maybe?
#14
It's not just the pound, storage seems to be getting more expensive. I bought a NAS box with 2 4TB drives for £180 on Amazon last year. I haven't seen anything similar this year.

very good

bought it for this price in march

Thanks. Wish it was easier to find out for all these units as quite often they are cheaper than buying just the HDD for some reason.

Never trust the description on their site. This is a 3.5" external drive and requires an external power source. Will not work off USB power. One of the Q&A even confirms this.

From the Seagate site:

Set-up is straightforward. Simply plug in the included power supply and USB cable and you are ready to go. It is automatically recognised by the Windows® operating system, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure.

This is the drive I have connected to my Xbox one. Been plugged in for about a year now and has only gone wrong once (turned power off and restarted, all fine). Great drive for the money in my opinion.

Seagate??

Personally, no matter how cheap it gets, I wouldnt buy it, because it IS a Seagate drive inside, and I have had no end of dead ones, some within warranty - which Seagate have then refused to honour.
In the last 12 months I have had FIVE Seagate drives fail, none of them very old and one only 16 months old and with less than 20% capacity usage; it was sent back under warranty (recorded delivery), but no replacement sent by Seagate because I didnt use their impossible to source packaging requirement.

Does it require a power supply? Some seem think it doesn't but others say it does

Pound value is sh*t and you are buying imports. All due to the "genius" voting in June.
Now let's just keep quiet and put our money where our mouth is.

Since it is a desktop drive, of course it does!

Yep. It's a 3.5" drive & needs a power supply which is included.

I have had a 1tb protable for about 3 years and its still sound, but thats about it, it seems like whatever Hard drive you buy, its a gamble and it might just give up and die on you after a month or 2, joke really!

Log in on the Amex website. Next to the Transaction tab, there is an "Offers" tab, scroll over and you should find the Argos one. Then you just need to click in order to activate it

But at least you're not bitter. When we negotiate a fair trade deal with Trump, prices will come down I think.

If you have the XBox DVB Tuner, can you record TV easily onto an external drive like this?
#38
Decent price, not a bargain.
If you search 5TB Seagate was already appear a few time in this HUKD for less than £100 or less. in the past

These the ones you can put in your PS4?
