Seems like a deal. The 250GB one is £34.99 at PC World.

Seagate external portable drives are compact and perfect for on the go. Instantly add more storage space to your computer or take large files with you when you travel.

Setup is straight forward, simply connect a single USB cable and you are ready to go. The drive is powered from the USB cable, so there is no need for an external power supply. Plus, it is automatically recognized by Windows, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure. Saving files is easy too, just drag-and-drop.

It's not just easy to use - it's fast and energy efficient too. Enjoy fast data transfer speed with USB 2.0 connectivity and 5400 RPM drive performance. Built-in power management ensures energy efficient operation.
Quality and Reliability

Seagate has delivered proven, reliable storage solutions for over 30 years. As of 2008, Seagate has shipped over one billion hard drives. Seagate continues to stand behind its quality by including a 2-year limited warranty.

Guys i'm after a cheap as poss external hard drive that will do the job (and simple to use) - is this the one to go for?

Basically I need to clear out my Desk Top PC as it's full of photos, my laptop is going the same way so want to do that too. Also want to back-up all my SD cards onto a hard-drive too (right now I have approx 12gb worth of SD cards to back-up).
Would probably like to back-up all of my Camcorder tapes too, most of which are 60-90mins.

Obviously i'm going to want to keep backing-up as the years go by with videos and pics.

Is this a good option, or can you suggest any others for little money extra?
Cheers.

Anyone??

If you don't need it to be portable then you might as well get a 3.5" powered one, much better £/GB rate.

1tb for £40-50
