Good price but not for me. I prefer to keep my eggs in smaller baskets !!!

Heat added. I bought the 500GB version about 5-6 months ago for around £65, so I think this is a fair price.

Small, fast, quiet and with Star Trek-esque styling (pulsing yellow strip light on the front) it's a good little drive. Had no problems with it at all so far.

Didn't install the included FreeAgent software so can't comment on what that's like.

i have 1 too but agree with mrmr25 , the looks are not too impressive , plus its a bad brown colour and cant lie down , it has to stand . lots better looking drives i will go for next time for sim money

Its not sold out... they just dont deliver to your home, they will happily order it in store for you to pickup the next day or so. I assume its a lossleader, so they are trying to get people into the store

Does this 1TB WD drive run off an external power supply or is it self powered off the USB cable? :?

The cheapest 1tb drive at comet is the lacie for £78. This is the same price per bg as the seagate, which i trust more.

OK just seen the link for the WD drive £63 but it shows 'temporarily out of stock'.

Unless you really need that extra 250gb, this: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/308788/buffalo-500gb-drivestation-external/ is a much better deal.

Hi,
These are good drives but they preven the Dell Dimension E510 from booting up properly. It takes around 2 mins to get to the windows vista boot screen when they are connected on start up. Just to forwarn....

Have a play about with your bios settings and it'll soon sort that out.

All external drives which contain desktop-size hard disks need their own power supply.

The 1tb aren't sold out, I got one on 30/12.

bought the 500gb version 2 months ago for this price

I bought the 500gig version from Amazon a little while ago - think it was £54. A nice little unit. The software on the drive does a pretty good job of automatically backing up files.
