I was just about to post that these are great if you have the dock from an earlier model

..then I realised they're giving the dock away free with it ;)

ordered, nice one!

I cant see these come with free dock ? any idea ?
#15
Dock is no longer mentioned on the website, was mentioned when I bought it 30 minutes ago though.
#16
To be honest, the dock is a bit of a superfluous item - got one with the Firewire 800 version of the drive, but dont really use it. OK for free though, but definitely not worth paying for - at any price.

Also, although it looks really nice, the casing on my drive has started to come apart - not the most solidly made bit of kit.

Saying that, I'm still tempted to go for this

I noticed it earlier too. Now that Play have removed any mention of it from the site, I guess it wasn't meant to be there in the first place. I wouldn't hold out much hope of getting it included when your drive turns up.

To be fair, Play rarely make mistakes like this. Maybe only once or twice per minute. :p
#18
I bought one of these over a year ago and its a nice drive. The dock cost me around £20. I don't use it much, but it was worth it for the leather storage sleeve for the drive that comes with it.
#19
It said free dock when I ordered too - they'll get a letter of complaint if I don't see it.

I was after a portable 500gb HDD for my photography and this fitted the bill - fiver more than I was going to pay for a different one but I guess when this is a lot slimmer its worth it.

Couldn't really afford it but at the price!!!
#20
Still reports the free dock included with the silver version. Ordered. thanks.

its Addtional add-on, the women in the video said you have to buy it as a own accessorie... I wouldnt say its included...

P.S.

Thats why they took ''free docking'' of the page now. . .

Or maybe the first orders where supplied with a docking and now they aint. . .

Look at the video again, at the start of the video in bold writing it says you gotta purchase the docking separately

So voted COLD Considering you can buy a western digtial element for £5 less :p lol
Unless someone can reply back to my 1st post'' and tell me if this is any better then the WD element...
#27
I never used to have a problem with Play but the last few orders they have flamingoed up, I ordered a 16GB SD card and they sent me a plush Yoda, now I don't mind Yoda but he doesn't fit in my camera. I ordered other stuff and they got them wrong also. I wouldn't trust them to send you a hard drive nevermind with a dock, you will probably get a nice mug or something...

I've given you some heat, but I do like this deal better.

I have had my 320GB Freeagent Go drive since January 2009 and it's been great. Only thing I would have them change is make the dock black, to match my drive.

"The promotion is available to eligible consumers who complete the purchase of a Seagate® FreeAgent Go™ Drive between April 6, 2010 and June 14, 2010 online"

Taken from the T&C's. It may arrive in a separate package as I have not seen any Seagate HDDs include a Dock.

I bought this exact HDD a year ago for £89.99. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a great little lightweight drive. imho, it is better than WD on terms of looks, feel and "limited warranty" of 5 years compared t the WD's 2 years.

Always! :-D

I own one of these and two WDs. Seagate seems a lot sturdier overall although I haven't had problems with either. I think this price for a 500GB HD is a steal for either brand.

It's now 22nd June, therefore outside of the days stipulated. Nice looking drive though...
