That seems a good price to me - if it's one of the proper 2.5" portable ones that doesnt need a separate power supply
#3
The label looks like a one-off. Is this nationwide? Which HMV?
#4
Leeds city centre store.

they had one other 500GB and about 5-6 other, they were 320Gb and 250Gb models
#5
Seems like a 1 off. Nice deal if you are local & can pick one up.

thats the same sticker that goes on all hmv reductions. no matter how much stock they have, so this could be in every store

Nothing in Sheffield I can find.

Do these things auto-power off/sleep when PC hibernates/is turned off like the Western Digital ones?

It's a 2.5" portable drive, so when the PC is switched off and there is no power going to the usb ports, the drive will switch off.

No Seagate drives at all in Bond St London branch last night. Went there purposely. Will have to go uptown and check some other branches now after seeing this deal (and my tube's not running).

Damn you to hell hotukdeals!!

They had these in HMV @ The Fort, Birmingham this morning.

But if it's a laptop plugged into the mains, the USB ports are still likely to be powered up.

Got the last 320g one at HMV Braehead Scotland - it was £40 - no more student discount:x

Erm, not true in your case perhaps - but it is for many laptops, and it is a BIOS option on some. And very useful it is too.

It would cost £10+ petrol (plus might not get one). Will get the one from amazon for £52 (not seagate, tho).

Wish I'd seen this post before I went into town today!

Do these just scan @ £40. My HMV had a 320GB and it was marked £64.99 without the reduction sticker. If I take it to the till, will it just scan at the lower price?

Ta!:)
