SEAGATE Expansion STBX2000401 Portable Hard Drive - 2 TB, Black
USB 3.0 portable drive (contains 2.5" laptop HDD).
I haven't tried, but on other threads people say that the HDD inside is OK for XBone and PS4 upgraders.

It's a bit more than the Amazon deal, but that is out of stock. This is currently in stock and available for free home delivery or store collection. Part of their Black Tag promotion.

It's directly comparable to the current deal for a WD Passport 2TB at Argos for £59.99, which is scorching at over 1100 degrees. Some may prefer Seagate over WD, or Currys over Argos.

Edit: Sold out for home delivery now. Can still be ordered for store collection.

Edit 2: If you have an Amex card you could get it for £49.99 using the deal for £10 moneyback on a £50 spend at Currys. Thanks to the other posters.

You also get a £5 voucher with the argos deal.

True enough and for many that could be the better deal. Not so good if you don't have an Argos nearby but do have a Currys/PCW. Also the voucher expires by Xmas, so can't be kept back for the New Year sales.

I think they're both good deals.

Yes, once liberated from the case, this HDD does fit into the ps4. :)

great deal. heat :)

Have anyone had experience in upgrading the HDD for the PS4 and does it handle 2TB ok?
I heard there was forums which mentioned 2TB issue on the PS3 you see.

....

The PS3 limit is only 1TB internally and 2TB through USB but this does work in a PS4 and a recommended upgrade.

Bought this on the Amazon deal the other day for a friend who no longer wants it, was going to return it, but if anyone wants it for the Amazon price, let me know

£10 back from AMEX ;) (£10 off a £50 spend)

Tempted to go for this ahead of the WD one (price-matched at John Lewis), if this definitely doesn't have the USB interface soldered to the HDD.

Definitely doesn't, I upgraded mine yesterday, ordered it from Amazon on Sat.

Just a note, also if this is the same as the one I got from Tesco runs at 5400RPM, same as stock drives in Xbox at least not familiar with PS4 specs in truth, not noticed any difference in load times running of USB 3.0 port.

Great investment.

Please note:
Seagate is the worst brand if we are talking about hdd!
You can save money but you gonna lose data after one year...

That must be why Seagate offer this with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

The Argos deal can also include McAfee Live Safe for free if purchased before the end of today. Look further down the page under special offers.

I would go for this over WD Passport, because the latter solder USB, whilst this is SATA and can be repurpose to anything SATA.

Not going to get your data back though!

Have to agree. Seagate have been the worst drives I've owned personally. We also bought about 50 Dell PCs at work, within 3 years 6 Seagate drives had gone bad, with over 12 going within 4 years. Just a disaster!

I thought this is 7200rpm. Can someone confirm? Many thanks.

You got off lightly. I've seen failure rates of 50% on Seagate drives within the first 24 months.

But, Seagate are nearly always the cheapest option, so people keep buying them. :(

It's 5400rpm and to answer Mason, the PS4 comes with the same HDD that was in the PS3. (5400)

Does removing this drive from the enclosure void the warranty by any chance? If Seagate drives have bad failure rates I'm thinking twice about putting one inside my PS4.

Guess it's now expired, as showing at 69.99.
