One of my colleagues died recently while working under his car when the Hydraulic jack gave way, apparently vehicle was not supported by stands. which made me think of replacing my rusty old "pin" type axle stands with something safer.

On average 20 people die each year in the UK working underneath their cars

Cast iron support posts.
Tough steel plate welded bases.
Model No. VS2003

Hi, Thanks for posting.
I have popped the retailer info into your title so that it can be seen by those members who are browsing in text view.
I have also edited the merchant to Amazon marketplace.
Best Regards,
I too fear of my car falling on me when i'm underneath and i have those Sealey ones ;)

I don't trust cheap stands and the Sealey seems more solid than those Silverline ones.
Had a pair of the Sealey stands for about 10 years and likewise vouch for their sturdiness. Price is less than back then. Know nothing about the Silverline but my life is worth more than £5.51 per side!

my thoughts too, silverline are total of 3 tonne not 2 x 3 tonne
Every Silverline product I've bought have broken - I wouldn't get under my car with Silverline stands lol.
thanks oh could do with a new set

mine arrived today, nice piece of kit
Very good tool, although some modern cars are very difficult to apply jack stands to, there's a long discussion about the current 3-series not having anywhere you can put a jack stand on underneath, lots of opposing opinions on it and no guidance from BMW...
Hey is this serious?
