With the item in original post (the smaller capicaty one) is there anyway to mount this if so please tell me a compatiable product and how to do it.

Heat added BTW :-D
#8
I think it would be slightly easier to 'pick' the manual lock back up than using that.
#9
if this is anything like mine there are 4 holes in the bottom for fixing to the floor or a joist
#10
The price is good, but I wouldn't trust the box to stop burglar as the door can easily be crowbar open. I know cos I had one a few years back.

If you must have some cash and valuable jewellery at home, invest on an insurance approved safe, it will increase the amount of cash and valuable insured without adding to premium.
#11
isnt that like having a big sign that says

"Good stuff here!"

That's true but for me it's a case of slowing them down and them making noise.

That's true in which case fit one of these then hide all your valuable stuff elsewhere. It will act as a distraction then ;-)
#13
worth getting this as a deterrent, secure it at home next to pc and keep it empty ;-)

on a serious not: 6% quidco

You dont say???

And thats what your average burgular carries around with him? Why not show a picture of a JCB and tell us that it will demolish a front door allowing easier burgular access.

Good point. You see the 'tool' but not the compressor that powers it...

Great idea, I might buy 25, put them in a room and only one has the valuables in it. Put CCTV in the room and its just like watching deal or no deal :)

Apart from the part they don't let you see on telly, where the contestant gets the right one and is seen pulling a fast one out of the channel 4 building!

HAHA
"Sir, is there any evidence that we could use to find the suspect?"
"well..... none in the house, but theres a compressor outside which wasnt there before.....

and its taking up my darn parking space!!!"

Voted hot.
#19

You can open these by simply hitting them hard on top. It's magnet locked, and the magnets are susceptible to shocks.

It's hilarious, as you can actually open them quicker than entering the PIN :D

I dont think anyone is really going to think of a £10 safe as anything more than a deterrant. I'm going to use them ( actually bought one of each ) as a place to store important documents, likle passports, birth certificates and morrison's vouchers. :|

I am actually going to put the safe I bought into one of these "marks & spencers belgian biscuit" tins - it's almost impossible to get into those.

On second thoughts, I might put the small safe in the big one as a double whammy.

Yes, but generally it's better than hiding your dosh in a shoebox or under your mattress. In order to open it you would have to make some noise, if brute force is used, and most tealeafs wouldn't like to draw attention to their activities. It's a degree of security that would stop an opportunistic thief so definitely well worth the cash.
Excellent deal!

he's right.

Also, heres a way to try and get free delivery..

I put in some other stuff from the 'clearance' section including :-
Phillips Screwdriver No.4 200mm ( It was78 pence..)

I just received an e-mail saying that it was out of stock and as a gesture of goodwill, they'd waive the delivery cost. Also said, if it was from clearance secion they'd not likley be getting it in again.

worth a try I'd say. worst case you spend an extra 78p on a screwdriver.....

2 wacks with a sledgehammer opens these.

I get loads returned to my work. When the battery dies, you cant open them without the key, so when I get them back and something rattles inside it, I gotta crack it open, lol. Its usually the key though.
#31
Can you order this and pick it up from your local screwfix trade counter so you dont have to pay postage??
#32
Little more than a glorified cash box, I'm afraid.

Any burglar worth their salt can get into one of these in less than five minutes using rudimentary tools.

the battery hasnt died in mine but still cant open it and i cant find key! any ideas apart from the sledge hammer?
#35
Great Item I bought the smaller one last year but have now found its become too small to hold all of my millions lol (yer right). I paid about £25.00 for the small one last year and its just cost me that for the 39L great bargain. Thanks. :-D
#36
Sledge hammers? Bloody screwdriver and 9v battery are easier to carry, pry the control panel off and you will see two wires leading to a solenoid that locks it, apply the 9v to these the right way and the solenoid retracts, job done!

A steal at this price
