An absolute travesty of a collection, not the way I would want to remember Sega Dreamcast.
#2
Not that bad (crazy taxi, space channel 5) but could have been much better. Was planning on downloading Crazy Taxi on Live til i read about the changed music/brand names, so thanks for that.
#3
very disappointed tbh . when i first heard about the dreamcast collection i was expectign quite a few games .... but 5 ??? and most of those are poor :(
#4
This is such a poor collection, I don't think it's worth £15.
#5
Who on earth at sega allowed this collecton to come out - of all the quality first party games developed for the Dreamcast they put together this pack.......awful, awful collection

saying that it is the cheapest Ive seen it selling for, so is a hot deal if you are after this.

Shenmue!

Games themselves aren't great, space channel 5 hasn't aged well and sega bass fishing isn't very interesting without the fishing controller.

It's a lazy collection tbh, SEGA have done themselves no favours by bundling this lot together.

They'll just use it as an excuse not to do 'proper' ports of other DC classics now. (All of these are ported from the PC releases of the games due to the ease of converting PC code to 360)

I suppose we can at least be thankful 360 has a proper version of Rez, even if it's not included in this collection.

Was really looking forward to seeing some dreamcast classics ported over sadly this collection doesnt bode well, lazy with little effort put in and a strange choice of games too

Very disappointing

Would cost too much to port the greats like Shenmue which will be their excuse (But so many people would buy something like this even for £20 if the decent games were included).

Zombies revenge was a great little game as well, Skys or Arcadia. Plenty of Dreamcast games worth playing again. Unfortunately once again Sega dont understand. They dont listen to the fans and people that actually buy the games.

If you are going to do something do it properly or dont bother at all. No one will buy this and they will say that didnt work and move on to another rubbish Sonic game.

Very shortsighted IMO. This sort of attitude and way they run the company is why Sega is finished in the gamming business. Very very sad. They should go down the digital distribution avenue for these and make them 360 excusives for the best Dreamcast titles, Dreamcast games were developed on an MS os platform originally anyway so should be relatively straight forward to port to the 360 plus MS would pay them a load for exclusivity. Live is a beast loads of people would pay at Least a teener a go to download games like Shenmue on their 360.

Stupid shortsighted and not properly thought out but I guess thats Sega for you.

Ikaruga
Power Stone 1 & 2
Samba De Amigo (would work great with Kinect)
Cosmic Smash (would work great with Kinect)
Seaman (would work great with Kinect)
Virtua Tennis 2K2
Bangai-O
Soul Calibur
Street Fighter 3:Third Strike
Fatal Fury – Mark of the Wolves (Possibly the best SNK fighter ever)
Re-Volt
Skies of Arcadia
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Grandia 2
Shenmue
Chu Chu Rocket

All worth porting to a digital download platform and or see the rights to MS so they can do it properly.

id pay £80 for a sequel to Shenmue. And £40 for HD remakes of the first two.
#12
WTF?!?!

I agree with everyone else. Poor effort at a DC collection.

Ikaruga, Border Down, Rez, Demolition Racer .... and a few of the others alreasy mentioned here .... would have been much better.

Having said that, I still have my DC and a pretty good size collection of games ... so who cares!

Oh ... and I also have a fishing rod controller. The fishing games are pretty much pointless without it.
#13
I too would pay £40 for HD Shenmue. I loved that goddamn game.

'Do you know where I can find Sailors?'
#14
Shenmue was amazing and i too would welcome another release of the game.

Crazy Taxi is amazing, might have to get this.
#15
yup - agree with all the comments above - Sega, are you listening? Sega... Sega.... oh, forget it then! (Space channel 5 was great at the time, but we are talking many years ago, and should be a £4 DL game in its own right).

Good opportunity, wasted. No wonder Sega now are a pale imitator of themselves.

oh yeah... and you can add Jet Set Radio to the list of great DC games too!
#17
Why hasn't there been a newer release of Crazy Taxi, I would of bought it.

OMG! Powerstone, virtua tennis, shenmue, and especially Skies of Arcadia! Man that brings back memories. Still waiting for the bloody sequal that never came!

Add sega rally to that list as well. One of the best racing games ever made imo.

Sega have really missed an opportunity here, especially considering how awesome the Mega Drive Collection is. I'm just going to wait for Space Ch 5 Pt2 to come out on XBLA as I already have Crazy Taxi from XBLA, Sonic Adventure hasn't aged well and most of the fun from Sega Bass Fishing was from the fishing rod controller. I sometimes think Sega just doesn't like money - a game like Chu Chu Rocket should have been on XBLA years ago, it would sell millions!

Good price though, heat added.

I do wish it included some better games like Jet Set Radio, but it's a start, and at least it's easier than hooking up my old Dreamcast and cluttering up my tv. Hopefully they'll release a better collection in the future, but at under 4 quid a game it's not outrageous.

I ordered this after 5pm last night and it arrived first thing this morning with 50p tracked on Quidco.

PS. The new music on Crazy Taxi definitely isn't up to the old Offspring stuff! :(

Zombies revenge was a great little game as well, Skys or Arcadia.

Skies of Arcadia was improved on the GameCube, whose disc can be put into the Wii. Great game.

Shenmue!

It was on XBOX too originally. One of the best games at the time. Don't understand why there hasn't been any sequels. Love JSR too!

As with the collection, although I liked Crazy Taxi, Sea Bass and Channel 5, I don't think I would want to pay more than £8 for this collection. I may as well turn my PS2 back on to play these games.

So neutral on this one.
#23
...and RE: Veronica - one of the best RE releases.
#24
Shenmue was amazing! Its a pitty Sega weren't able to keep up in the console wars, the majority of the games released were of good quality.
#25
Total Rip off. Cold.

Jet Set Radio was on the original xbox and is backwards compatable on the 360 but it was a launch game and is getting hard to find now. Copies still go on ebay for £15 - £20.

Thats how stupid Sega are Jet Set Radio already runs on the 360. Not in the collection. Shenmue was available for the original xbox and could be made to run on the 360 very very easily using back compat. The Dreamcast OS was Microsoft CE based so it wouldnt be hard to port titles to the 360 at all.

So stupid it makes my eyes bleed.

wasnt Shenmue 2 on original xbox and included a video of Shenmue to bring new players up to speed on what has occured?

Sega and the memories of Sega are best left in the past - anything new they bring out or rehash just taints those memories further.

I totally forgot about that. Terrific game

Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure 2 and Sega Extreme Sports for me to buy it. I would love to see Phantasy Star Online make a comeback but doubt we will see that :(

Totally agree, I have Jet Set Radio for the Xbox 1, it was posted either here or over at MSE when PC World were selling off the bundle that should have come with certain editions of the original Xbox along with Sega GT 2002, it was a promotional only copy not for resale, but PC World were clearing them out for £0.01! Was quite amusing reserving and going in and paying for it.

Yes Shenmue 2 was, and included a DVD, I bought it pre-owned whilst I was in the USA, still have it, obviously you need a chipped or soft modded Xbox to play it, I think it is harder to find PAL copies, although it was released here in the UK.
