Sega Bass Fishing? Poor selection of games.

I would have expected the likes of Shenmue :)

no powerstone????

Leaves scope for a Dreamcast collection 2

I don't think this pack is worth £10 tbh... But heat added.

ours died :(

Aw man, the Crazy Taxi port is terrible, Sonic is so dated and you can't play Bass Fishing without the essential DC Fishing Rod controller! That leaves Space Channel 5 which is what, 800 MSP on XBLA?

I guess if you're a die hard DC fan without the classic console then this is a reasonable price, but you could get a console and these games for around £20 on an auction site...

If shenmue was on this I'd pay £40. I used to love my dreamcast! But it was worst console purchase ever as shortly after buying all games dried up. Xbox 360 is best purchase for opposite reason, was like £89 in some deal and still delivering quality games years later!

At the moment, only Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure are available to download on Live, but the others are coming. The games are 800 MS Points each, or £6.80 if you don't buy discounted points cards, so if you want all 4 of these games then this isn't a bad price, but I would try the demos of the 2 games on Live first as I also agree with Stooo that the Crazy Taxi port isn't very good.

Voted hot based on the price, but I won't be buying it.

Likewise, unlike my xbox 360 which has RROD'd on me 5 times, and is currently out of action.

They don't make them like they used to.

Sad but true.

As for this package, there could have been so many better games in there...
#16
does the Sonic Adventure include the DX pack? if not then this is a terrible deal
#17
Unfortunatly for those buying this for Crazy Taxi you may be dissapointed.. I bought the standalone XBLA Crazy Taxi (which is the same one thats in this compilation) and the controls are terrible.

Its far too twitchy on the XBOX compared to the dreamcast version.

Sadly it was expected of Sega to do something like this, SC5 Part 2 is seemingly the best of the bunch, although we dont know what that'll be like as a port yet.

Crazy Taxi while fun, has had a bunch of stuff removed (music, locations etc) because the licences have ended. Sonic is just a poor port of a not particualy great game to begin with and Sega Bass Fishing, well, it was a stupid choice.

The game is a nice cash in of games which were already ported for XBLA/PSN, they didnt even try to make it special. It'll be less than £10, probably £5 in no time at all.

Shenmue with enhanced visuals and the loading times reduced would be great. I loved the dreamcast but nothing here for me. Crazy Taxi and Space Channel 5 are short life games for me and the rest are very weak indeed. I absolutely hate Sonic Adventure never found it playable at all. Frankly this collection is an insult to the dreamcast.

Why not include Propellor Arena never officially released and a fantastic playable game.
#20
Its a joke, SC5pt2 only existed as a Ps2 game in its translated edition and bass fishing and crazy taxi started out as arcade titles. There's nothing here at all which is exclusively DC.

Heat for price though, that's why we're here.
#21
Where is Chu Chu Rocket!

You can get it on the iPhone now so its not really a console game anymore but still a Classic!
#22
Worth it for Space Channel 5 Part 2 as this was on release for only a short period when it was originally released because it got recalled for the inclusion of Michael Jackson when the second Kiddie Fiddler court case started so the DC & PS2 versions go for quite a high amount of money now.

No Shenmue = NO POINT!

Yep I Agree about the games......18 Wheeler,Sports Jam..and Pikman and Powerstone for me
#25
yup no Shenmue, power stones 1 and 2, Daytona, soul caliber, chu chu rocket, crazy taxi 2, jet grind radio, sonic adventure 2, sega gt, sega rally 2,
#26
Wow 4 full games.....You're really spoiling us. Not.

Sonic & Crazy Taxi are the only 2 worth playing...Just.

Theres something about the DC's graphics that give them a timeless charm. I have yet to play a version of Virtua Tennis ans good as number 2 on the DC. Giant Gram 2000 was one of it's best titles, which sadly, never stood a chance of a uk release.
#28
Probably cheaper to buy a 2nd hand dreamcast and download/burn the games
#29
Far too pricey! Need to dig my dreamcast out the cupboard
#30
Very weak selection of games.
#31
Shenmue 3? One could dream.... :(

Dreamcast was possibly the most under rated games console ever to be released. It was technically as good as ps2 and xbox, its game collection was certainly not second rate, but somehow it just didnt take place.

Nintendo have shown how marketing and finding a niche can show how even a substandard product (wiii) can thrive.

I would go as far as say if programmed right the graphics were better on the Dreamcast than the PS2

I forgot the tennis game, I loved that!

Why does everyone keep mentioning Power Stone? It's not a SEGA franchise so why would it be on one of their collections? Not worth this price. Cold from me.
#36
this release is a joke. Of all those great DC games, this is the best they can conjour up? Cheap licences maximum profit. This will be a fiver by the end of next month
#37
What a crappy old bunch of games. Not worth 2.99
#38
Just buy a 2nd hand dreamcast, the things run forever!
and buy the games for £1 - £5 each!

i remember the old useless internet in the DC! haha! everytime i spoke to someone in a chat room or they typed back the whole page would reload, this was terrible if you had just written a long sentence and it suddenly disappeared!
#39
I heard the reason why the dreamcast never took off (and it was a fine machine, some great games, even had internet capabilities etc) was because sega had screwed the public over too many times recently before the release by releasing about 3 different pricey consoles within about 2 years and binning till eventually coming out with the dreamcast,by this time the public were too scared to buy the machine because they thought it may become obsolete within a year or so, I saw this on a documentary sorry the infos a bit vague.

It's understandable why Power Stone is not on the collection since it's a Capcom game and not owned by Sega. Jet Set Radio should have been included instead of Sega Bass Fishing as I still think it's one of the best games on the console. It would have been great to see Shenmue I bet if Sega release both plenty of people would go out and buy just for that game alone.

I would love a release of Giant Gram 2000: All Japan Pro Wrestling 3 as I think it is one of the best wrestling games it put WWF Royal Rumble to shame. I had a lot of fun with Tokyo Bus Guide I'd love to see those Dreamcast games ported but that will never happen.
