Yeah, this really is a deal for an accessory made for a console they stopped making in 2001, I remember how pricey the DC addons were back in the day, (in fact they were a ripoff).

Now in this modern, insane future we live in, where Sega make games for Nintendo consoles, have Sonic and Mario feature together in rubbish licensed tat, and squander their intellectual properties by giving it out to inexperienced third parties to ruin, we can take solace in the fact that once upon a time they used to make great games and great hardware to play them on, and the peripherals are cheap as chips.

Sadly, if you don't have a copy of Rez to play this with, none of the above applies, and will likely still get massively gouged for a decent copy, can't have it all I guess...

And if that isn't old enough for you, how about a Cyber Razor Cut?

Well these guys do, but don't hold your breath for MSR 2 or Shenmue III.

Voted HOT! The Dreamcast is my favourite console of all time. I have two of them stored away. Shenmue is my favourite game of all time. The only problem with the Dreamcast was Sega themselves and their marketing team!

My dc still takes pride of place under the tv.

The Dreamcast?, yes. New games get released for the system every year or so. The homebrew scene is still strong too.

sadly it was a mixture of being a cobbled spec(after they panicked over Sonys hype machine specs)
and Sonys hype machine convincing folks the PS2 was worth the wait
remember the hype of the emotion engine?

Yeah, they wheeled out that old bloke shedding a tear...and everyone bought it!

Great console. Still have a couple of them in the loft along with a box full of the games in the fat blue boxes - I must dig it all out sometime. In fact, I remember that there's an arcade stick and fishing rod controller up there too.

Happy days.

Cheers, I'll buy one for the missus.

Hot just for the sheer comedy value, whats next, a Currah Speech for the Spectrum 48k?

I'm a little jealous at all these people with working Dreamcasts... both my original and the replacement developed an issue of resetting themselves after a couple of minutes. I'm afraid this deal is around 10 years too late for me.

All console accessories are overpriced when they are Official ones. All Micro$oft accessories for example.

Superb, dig out your Dreamcasts, hook up your 56k modems and get into some online gaming during the PSN downtime.

That was actually quite a common problem - but, unlike Microsoft's Red Ring of Death or Sony's Yellow Traffic Light of Death, the reset problem is very easy to fix all on your lonesome.

Google 'Dreamcast Reset Fix', and you'll have your old consoles working within the hour.

Oh - and I won't be a happy chappy until we get a new version of Jet Set Radio.

Piracy was the biggest problem I thought, I had hundreds of games, you could get hold of some at the local car boot before they were even published. I stopped buying pirated games after that as I met a young fella who had been working on Soldier Of Fortune but had been made redundant and it was never released. I'd had it for months - felt a bit guilty!

Was it? When he told me about it, (we were both working as temps) I'd already had it ages so I had a look in the shops just to check and it wasn't about, perhaps it came out later. Anyway, point is games piracy cost jobs and in this case prematurely ended console development to boot.

Piracy wasn't the issue and didn't really cause the Dreamcast to fail. It was a combination of bad marketing and poor timing on Segas part that killed them as a hardware company. They also managed to **** off a lot of devs which really didn't help. Also Sony had a big part of Segas downfall.

Btw, SoF was released. I have the UK version of the game sitting right here.

Has anyone got a power lead for the DC? Anyone have a broken console and wouldn't mind parting with the cables? I have a perfectly fine DC but have lost the cables during a house move. Let me know if anyone has any spare.

Also controllers for £2.99 and VMUs for £3.57! :D
