All Kicking, All Punching New Megadrive Handheld LCD Console. Seconds Out. . . . Round Two!

The World Famous BLAZE LCD Handheld gets Killer new titles from the legendary Streets of Rage and Virtua Fighter series along with more Fully Licensed Sega Megadrive Classics.

Latest LCD Handheld console with 18 licensed Sega Megadrive games which promises to kick and punch its way into the hearts of retro gamers young and old alike.

The new BLAZE LCD Megadrive Handheld keeps with the hugely successful format and layout of the BLAZE LCD Handheld. This is a fully portable due to its bright LCD display and built in speakers. BLAZE’ latest retro marvel gives an almighty extra kick with the inclusion of two of the most popular action titles from the Sega Megadrive Streets of Rage series.

Those of us who owned the Sega Megadrive will no doubt remember the playground buzz which followed the release of the epic Streets of Rage titles back in the early nineties, we are happy to report that is all about to happen again with the release of the new BLAZE Megadrive LCD Handheld.

Keeping with the action theme, the new BLAZE Megadrive LCD Handheld keeps up the onslaught with more hard hitting Sega Megadrive titles including Virtua fighter 2, Golden Axe 2 and Shadow Dancer – The Revenge of Shinobi, enough to keep even the most hardened beat ‘em up fan satisfied for hours!

This new BLAZE LCD Handheld is not afraid to show its softer side too, as aside from the awesome action titles we are treated to many more 16-bit Sega Megadrive classics from the true golden age of gaming. Adding to the retro delights are titles including Sonic and Knuckles, Alex Kidd and Ecco the Dolphin, so something for everyone!

Another great feature of the latest console is the ability to hook it up directly to your TV, making the retro experience bigger than life.

Note there is a new model of this out with 6 buttons on and SD card slot to play games from... also includes 20 games not 18... it does cost more though.. about £35 but in my opinion worth the extra...

They wouldn't release a Capcom game.

I heard the sound chips on these things suck balls.

just get a fat psp or slim 2000, and youve got a hand held snes, nes, gba, mega drive, master system and many more such as neo geo and cps1/2 arcade games
#18
nephew has an older model of this and the screen while a little low quality does the job fine, it's a cool novelty handheald and I still like playing sonic & knuckles on the thing even though I own it about 10 times elsewhere.
#19
Not for me. I've got the entire back catalogue on my phone and it didn't even cost me a bean!
#20
If only it was the one with SD card reader.
#21
Apparently the SD card version of this DOES NOT allow you to save your game...not that this one does either...
#22
I've seen these in GAME (northampton) were in the bargin bin it was either £15 or £9 can't remember. Didn't put it on here because you can pick up a megadrive for basically nothing at carboots or ebay. Or emulate it on your computer, or you windows mobile or android device.

I suppose its cheap if you want a game thing for the car or out and about and don't have a smartphone or whatever.

The sound quality on these things is terrible! To the extent that it puts me off playing it.

How is that unlike the real Genesis/ Mega Drive games? 1980's watches have better sound quality than Mega Drive games.
#25
That would be quite fun to play, all the memories come flooding back to me now
#26
it got sonic!!!
#27
The orange san francisco will play all of these

In that it's out of key, the wrong tempo and with added intermittent high pitched squeals.

For example, Golden Axe:

Link to how it sounds on a free emulator.
Link to how it sounds on this device.

Neither sound exactly the same as the actual Mega Drive version (in fact, the original MD sounds slightly different to the MD2), but the emulator is far closer, and less annoying.

Just had an email from them :

"Sega Megadrive Handheld with 18 games built-in : Streets Of Rage - Special Edition"
Previous estimated arrival date: May 10 2011 - May 19 2011
New estimated arrival date: April 23 2011

Still availible at this price if you don't mind a 4 week wait :)
#35
came today! amazon said 3-4 weeks when i ordered, so well ahead of schedule at 5 days.

The screw on the back is tight, but the rear closes tight and secure without it and it works great. Build quality is not perfect, but the box and presentation is great. Sound sounds like it did on the megadrive - a bit crap but it's fine - very pleased.

Would recommend :)
