The introduction of SEGA Rally to the arcades in 1995 had the single biggest impact on the racing genre. Subsequent console rally games concentrated on a realistic simulation of the sport, but their popularity, reflected in sales, steadily dropped over the last decade. Now, SEGA Rally is back and set to reinvigorate the genre with the vital ingredients that many of the modern racers lack fun, character and beauty, with few rally games able to match its unique and rewarding experience. Rallys dead, long live SEGA Rally.

hard game, steering is so sensitive, or maybe im just pants at it...

Anyway good price!
#2
Steering is really sensitive, I didn't like it initially but once I did a few laps I started getting the hang of it and began to enjoy it.

30 pounds is the best price I've seen so far, only 16 tracks apparently which is my only concern.

Cheapest price out there, but Asda are selling this for only £1.96 more.
So this might be a better option for some people.

#17
Get the 360 version. The game will suck without Rumble.
#18
why waste #30 on a **** game? :?:
#19
Pants game - absolutely rubbish
#20
well blahdvd sent my Sonic Rush Adventure game on wednesday and I got it on friday as it comes from Jersey.

I am not sure if I want to pre order it from them as GAME have a deal that is SEGa Rally+ 1700 points for £47.50 but it comes down to £42.50 with the £5 voucher.

I am a SEGa fan though so that t shirt is really making me want to pre order. :-D
#21
This is the kind of game that will fall in price fairly soon after release, much like Stuntman did. Wait until it drops below £25, shouldnt have to wait too long
#22
thanks seems a good deal
i preordered one as i enjoyed the demo (took me a few games)
feels pretty arcadey which is good and not too cramped like most rally games

There ok tbh i have not used them for pre-orders but i've ordered loads other items and got them no problems thing is there like Play.com and based in jersey so delivery takes 3-5 days like with Play

If you have played both, what is better, Dirt or this?
#25
I would get this game but I have to many, that is stonking price.
#26
if the game is half as good as sega rally 1995 on the saturn it will be well worth the money

indeed some of us would just like a great arcade game rather than a full on sim of a rally game.
i remember sega rally when it came out in the arcades, awesome game, loads of fun, realistic? who cares.
#28
Sega Rally was classic on arcade and Saturn i liked Sega rally 2 on arcade aswell but Dreamcast game wasnt as much fun imo so hope full Sega Rally on dreamcast is good as old arcade games was i dont care much if its Sim or arcade myself handling.

What he said.Sega Rally is HUUUUUUGE let down,Dirt was great.:)
#32
Hmmm i dunno i thought the Dirt demo was just ok and have full game now which i do think is better not just because obviously being a full game instead i dont see how can compare a demo of Sega rally to Dirt full game and there different really Dirt is more sim like and Dirt is arcade styled so they do handle differently.

I remember the Rainbow 6 Vegas demo not impressing much that much but i took a chance and got it and its still the game i play most even though ive had it since launch months ago

Based on IGN review Sega rally has better score http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/820/820155p2.html with higher gameplay rating than dirt aswell as better overall score http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/795/795150p2.html
there both good games imo

You're comparing apples and oranges - this is much more arcade-y and it depends what you want, really.
#34
Edited my post - soz about that.
yes asda is £1.97 more expensive.

But still a viable option for some people.
#35
Nice one.
#36

This new Sega Rally plays a lot like the Dreamcast Version but although its pretty good rally games have moved on and you now need something exceptional rather than just OK. DIRT looks better and plays like a proper rally sim but there is no side by side multiplayer which is a major omission. TBH the rallying part of Flatout Carnage is much more fun than Sega Rally but if its released at £30 it might be worth a punt just for the multiplayer.

I have to say I wasn't that keen on Dirt, I thought CMR 2005 was far better...Dirt just feels so uninvolved, you could easily hammer the car round the track on your first go without much difficulty.

Although Sega Rally is more of an arcade game, it's actually a lot more realistic in some ways than Dirt - if you hold the accelerator down at the start, your wheels just spin and dig in. The deformable terrain also works well with the cars really hooking in through the ruts on subsequent laps.

Dirt seemed to work best with the circuit cars/trucks and then the rally part added, it doesn't feel like it was designed as a rally game. The cars pivot too quickly and they don't drag properly when drifting sideways as they should. Sega Rally plays exactly the same way but unlike Dirt I felt like doing the tracks over and over again to improve my times.
