First, the cable cannot upscale any signal. That is a marketing gimmick/lie. It can only show what it receives. It is simply 4K certified, meaning it can pass a 4K signal on should it receive one to a TV that can either handle it or not. And in the case of the Seiki set, it'll only reproduce a 4K2Kimage in 30Hz as it doesn't have HDMI 2.0 or HEVC265. Any 1080P signal such as from a PS3 will have to be rescaled by the TV. Reviews aint great either.

Pow ! And that's you told :p

The problem with the entry 4K TVs are you really need to research their capabilities, and assess them against your needs before seeing a "great price" and jumping straight in. Don't believe the hype with cables that cost in excess of £15. A cable of £4 is every bit as good but companies like to give their cables the VIP treatment as they can make mammoth profits with people believing their hype. How many times have you seen a trailer for a film and thought that looks awesome, went to see the film and left thinking, what a load of......

A cheap price like this probably means not very good performance in many areas, but if it works for you and you like it, that's all that matters isn't it

98 percent of the content most of us watch is in standard definition (excluding sky subscribers), on a 32 inch tv you don't see much if any benefit from 720p to 1080p HD so why the big buzz about 4K sets, unless the screen exceeds 50 to 55 inch I cannot see how any one can possibly benefit from this technology, it's just about street cred telling your mates you have a 4K TV, sad sad sad.

Another massive company owned by thew Chinese government. 25% + of the US tv market last year.

A few years ago no one would have considered buying a Korean TV/phone/car but now folk say, but it's not a Samsung/LG etc.

If you believe that a £30 USB powered fairy magic chipped cable is the Holy Grail to up-scaling SD/HD to 4K then so be it. Shame EVERY review journo, industry insider or developer from EVERY other TV/Blu-Ray etc. manufacturer is unaware of these, or they'd all have saved shed loads in development and passed these savings on to current consumers along the way.
As I said, the TV - as detailed on its OWN website - CANNOT do more than 4K2K 30hz from ANY HDMI source fed to it. So grow up.
And I don't care how big a manufacturer they are in China, the world or universe, they still, as of yet, make cheap rubbish as compared to Sony, Panasonic and LG and Samsung. Read the independent reviews which clearly state that most 1080P budget sets produce better HD images than the ham fisted conversion/scaling attempts by Seiki's.

The other thing about 720p/1080p is that if you feed a 720p screen a 1080 source is can look awfull and noticeable. The 720/1080 debate is as naff as the debate about "you have x inches to see the difference between 720p/1080p/2048p"

Looking at this review the cable does do good stuff to 1080p.

Which actually quotes "upconverting cable is extremely good. Even better than a built-in upscaler inside another TV manufacturer that starts with the letter “S” too!!!"

More details here about why its not a gimic as its developed by Technicolor

You learn something every day.

Could phone my local as at that price its a steal,I would want one to use as a monitor.

Lots of bumpf from Seiki and saying it doesn't cost $2k like a Sony upscaler - read whole TV , and the cappers it scores poorly on objective tests but subjectively it may appear better?! Subjectively I can fly - ask R. Kelly. And, "So there you go. Forty bucks, looks good. Even if you don’t think so, just use it as a regular HDMI cable. Case closed!" If a built in TV scaler is worse than a £30 cable doesn't say much for the TV. Note mate didn't dare specifically to say Sony was worse - I smell a lawsuit.
Actual buyers are saying they had a basic/came with cable and that it's better. Well, disputes over spending X on a digital cable that either will or won't work (send a stable signal) are rife. Rule of thumb tends to be a reasonably thick cable (dependent over length) which is suitably shielded with solid plugs either end and that's it.
