Got some cheap HDMI cables I bought from Poundland that I don't like, and Cex will give me £1.60 credit for each cable! Was about to bin these too.

Is this a deal?

lol Just looked on their site and it does say they give £1.60 credit for 1m long HDMI cables. Poundland sell 1m cables so if I was to buy 10 for £10 do you think I could take them to CEX and get £16 credit?

There's usually a limit of 5 items :) but just go in the next day, you could also sell some online. Be prepared to show a receipt.

£1.60 cash would be good, as credit though it's crap.... ask the stuff in there is well overpriced.

Their stuff is priced ok - I'm trading 5 crap cables and getting £8 credit. Can get a PS3 or Wii game for a couple of quid then. Better than throwing them away. You can trade allsorts of stuff to them - old USB flash drives, old cables, just have a look at what they sell and what they buy.

Its a good place as an alternative to selling items on eBay

Yeah, sometimes I want an old hard drive or ancient PC memory, and CEX tends to be not much more expensive than online, and no delivery charges and no wait. (When I'm refurbing ten year old machines.)

If you're that desperate for £6 cex credit, then yeah I guess you could go to all that hassle lol

I know its petty....

Everytime i've been in their telford store (3 times...) they've always had this really really heavy metal music on... Not stuff you can listen to but the sort of stuff where the guy is screaming down the mic and there's this mad 'thud thud thud...'

It does put you off when game are just around the corner...

But, swapping £1 for £1.60 sounds a good deal - voted hot... Dont like the store though.

Not just the music, smells of stale ass in every store I've been in too. Good deal tho.

Metal with just screaming should not be called music imo. Don't know what CEX corporate policy is like but they seem awfully lax.

They are franchises so would imagine it is down to individual store. My local one plays some cracking tunes, no heavy/thrash metal in earshot. :)

Haha disliking screamo is understandable but heavy metal in general? Plebs

It's just another way to get you in the place. I would do it for Cash not Credit.

im not discrediting Metal in general (im a fan of NDH & industrial) but screaming without and lyrics doesn't make for music.
