Selle San Marco Ponza Power Saddle £14.00 Delivered @ CRC

£14.00 @ Chain Reaction Cycles
Not sure I believe the £64:99 RRP, but still a mega bargain @ £14. Owned a few San Marco saddles and they are top notch, bargain! £51:99 @ Wiggle. Only the silver and red at this price though.

that looks painful

It's a great deal. But I love how manfacturers manage to pretend that a saddle will improve your performance. The most important thing about a saddle is whether it reduces the risk of sores.

I have one of these, saddles, it's excellent and have not found it uncomfortable.

Only the silver / red option available at the price shown.

Others including the one in the photo is £59.99

The saddle on my Boardman was giving me some serious grief this weekend so this came along at just the right time.
Don't assume that because a saddle 'looks uncomfortable' that it actually is, out of all the bikes I've ridden, I've eneded up with a San Marco saddle on just about every one.
It's often the 'comfort' saddles I've found the worst.

Did say that in the description, for some reason I couldn't get the link for the silver/red one, maybe a mod can amend.
OK done it!

Just bought one, thanks so much OP was just about to pop to Halfords to buy one.
#8
I read that as power sandle LOL. Strangest looking footwear I'd ever seen! Thought it must be some sort of experimental orthopaedic thing.
#9
Thanks, just bought one.
#10
Can anyone find a real life pic of the silver/red version?
#11
bargain but make sure you have your sitbones measured before purchasing any cycle seat..to ensure prper/comfortable fit . UK cycles have a special seat that measures the sitbones spacing from indentations. Got my last specialized Avatar after measurement & haven't looked back since

You can use any saddle on a mountain bike....the Charge spoon which I have is the most recommended saddle on bikeradar if you don't fancy the deal posted.
#16
I'd say 200g is a very respectable weight for a saddle at this price.

Great price - £14 for a quality Selle San Marco!
at 130mm it is very narrow, many bike shops have the equipment to tell you the best width for you, mines about 156mm, however at this price I'm going to give it a try, put some miles into it and see how my rump feels after (fingers crossed!).

My frames dark blue with black carbon forks, my Campag. Khamsin wheels are black with a red motif, my new Knog N.E.R.D. computer is red and all my Campag. Veloce components, ITM stem, bars and Alpina seatpost are black finish so a Silver and Red saddle is going to look all sorts of wrong in combination, but fingers crossed this saddle is comfy!

bike that i am getting ( claude butler san remo 2011 ) has an "active racing plus" saddle - is it worthwhile buying this to replace it??
#22
saved by this being the wrong colour for my bike, how girlie does that sound? really don't see a red/silver combo looking right on a yellow frame with black everywhere else....

just 'cos I didn't buy one doesn't mean it's not hot though :)

hottie

been keeping an eye out for a new saddle... and my bike is silver and red, wooop!
#25
i remember when bikes were bikes..... proper mudguards and a cover for the chain....
#26
I have a similar one with Titanox rails and it's very comfortable.

Ltd Edt Team Carbon, great bike, couldn't see anything that touched it at the price.
MY SADDLE JUST ARRIVED, THAT'S QUICK, LOOKS GREAT!

Thanks - same colours as my bike. Also nice that their website is back functioning properly again

As many on this post are interested in bikes, perhaps someone could help me out. I would like a strong front light for the winter but don't want to spend more that £50, any suggestions?

If you prefer red... The above link also has a much lower RRP which is strange

Width is 130 which I think is probably too narrow for me. Great spot though.

I got an RSP Asteri 3 front / Astrum rear set from Rutland Cycling for (around) £51, with Quidco that's pretty much spot on £50. Very bright front (and rear), the front swivels on click stops which can be handy and also has a rechargeable battery built in so no trailing wires or batteries to hang from the stem or downtube and it's alloy bodied so nice and strong, Very pleased with them.

I have a Charge Spoon Saddle with Cromo Rails from Wiggle for my Raleigh 400 roadbike.
Also bought a Charge Stool Saddle for my Boardman Sport mountain bike.

They are both a lot more comfortable than the razor blades that came as standard but I still get saddle sore after half an hour.

Is this Selle any more comfortable (it seems to be narrower) or can anyone recommend a better seat ?
#35
This is a great piece of kit - just wondering if i need to upgrade though - my saddle is heavier but i know it's comfy, and does the job...
