It's 5p less than sending the parcel directly via myhermes.
Myhermes charge £2.75 if that helps.

thanks

Spend the extra 5p and go directly with myHermes. That way, if you have any issues, they will deal with it more promptly than dealing with a 3rd party/middle man company.

had one parcel that gone missing. Received full refund after 2-3 weeks.
Hardly something you would call terrible.

Don't think would use hermes. Fella collected parcel other day,1 day late no apology just said "parcel" while smoking a cigarette at my front door. Then goes to get my receipt takes about 10 mins and just squashes it in the letterbox. Not the best 1st impression.

both companies are a joke. insurance is a joke. you are covered for only the amount you paid for the item, not replacement cost. they won't refund postage costs which is a joke....they lost an item in between collection from the shop to their depot. I bought and the only way it could have got lost it is if a staff member stole it. 150.00 secondhand kef pair of speakers. ni comms. they dudnt think it was missing. initially refused to pay and only paid up I threatened legal action and to report them to the ombudsman. no apology. no postage refund. refund process was a joke too. t.ssers

no they bloody won't or don't. they steal your item they hope you don't notice. make you wait weeks until you've had enough and threaten legal action, they they refund you what you paid but not the postage you paid them for zero service

Unless the driver claims he delivered your parcel, despite CCTV from the cameras at workplace clearly showing he hasn't. Then you signature on the receipt suddenly becomes "unreadable". Happened twice to me and from what I was told, many other people on site.

I'll rather pay extra pound for more reliable company.

"Protect your parcel up to the value of £2,500.00"

Who in their right mind would ever actually send something worth £2,500 via Hermes???
#16
been this price for a while, posted before I think too. although delivery shows up under the 2 day tab, deliveries are actually 2-5 days

'most smokers are selfish t.ssrrs' not to stereotype much then! Can you tell me why a large number of care and support workers (for elderly, disabled, LD etc) smoke, if they're selfish t.ssrrs? Enlighten me please with your 13 yr old wisdom :)

Not jibing, but what would you consider a more reliable company that delivers for an extra quid?

After seeing programmes on TV regarding delivery drivers / couriers, its easy to see why they don't give a sh1t and are in a rush. I've had deliveries left in all kinds of crazy places by Hermes. I always send anything of value via DPD - the service is a million times better.
#20
wonder what you all do different to me to get such a bad experience
sending parcels without signature, fill a form, full refunds including postage (sold value not purchase)
never had any gone "missing" it was always a matter of parcel being delivered to bins or thrown trough the fence - actual descriptions on their system
maybe 1/300 going wrong

I've used the drop off service through parcel2go/hermes 3 times now, was delivered within 2 working days every time.

better than RM.
#24
For anyone making comments about these, bad things can be said about most couriers unless paying real money.

Like someone said, if you were to send a parcel worth £2500, you wouldn't pay a few quid to ship it.
I sent a parcel with RM a few weeks back which went missing, and I put a claim in and now have a 4 week wait before I even hear back from them!!

yeah, I'm not saying they don't do it at all in 2 days, just that technically it's a 2-5 day service. used them 20-30 times with nearly all being 2 days

Hermes - insured parcel was lost, wait 5 week without anything
#27
do not use hermes, they might be cheap, but no customer support and they lose parcels. when you claim you need every receipt even if you have had the item for 10 years. no receipt no insurance, you ask for a signature they deliver it and leave it somewhere without one. problems after problems and i just quit being their agent due to it.

Amazingly, I found that parcel2go refunded me for a lost parcel within days. Hermes took a bit longer. RMail can take 30 days to give you your first reply and require far more from you. RMail are lenient maybe the first time you make your claim but if it is of any value or a subsequent claim they then start ramping up the requirements in my experience. They also require the recipient to return a completed form - that is where i hit a brick wall as not a single one of my buyers would return that form so i'd get nothing back from RMail. That is RM and domestic claims though. For international they are easier to get compensation from.
