*** UPDATE: seems they've reduced the price even further. £2.22 including VAT now

Before anything, try to answer the following questions and if the answer to all of these are YES then this deal might be for you, if not this is certainly not for you!

- Is your parcel weighting less than 1kg and has regular dimensions for a parcel of that weight?

- Are you sending something invaluable that you would have sent with Royal Mail second class none tracked service anyway?

- Are you not a Hermes hater?

OK, then in this case Parcel2go is offering a low price for parcels weighting less than 1kg that do not require insurance sent by Hermes 48 hours/drop off service! The price is cheaper than what Hermes is offering themselves and I am not sure if there is any code to take this lower or not?

Did you read my descriptions at all? Not everyone is sending 2kg of gold in the post!

Whether there sending 2kg or not, this gets lost or damaged using this service you've basically put your parcel in the bin

You may be right about certain people will use this service, but the deal isn't made clear that there is no insurance/cover for your item

Any parcel can get lost or damaged when sent with any courier! Please have some logic! This service is good IF you are sending something e.g worth less than £20 that you would have sent via RM second class untracked service anyway! At least this way you are tracking your parcel!

Never said that any other courier wouldn't/couldn't lose or damage your item, the point I've made is you're saving 36p to have no cover if it's lost or damaged. Was making it clear to people as the description doesn't state any of it.

May be for some people, was just making it clear to any considering it that there is no cover with this service.

This seems the sensible option to me. If you're sending a low cost item, at least you'll get your money back for 36p. :)

Refer to my previous comment and the first comment on this post, the description is clearly stating no cover. You just do not read properly.

2kg of gold is worth about £64k at the moment, neither Royal Mail nor myHermes will offer compensation to cover this!

No you've danced round that there is no cover with this, you haven't specifically made it clear, royal mail 2nd class would still cover you if your item was lost or damaged, that is if you could be bothered to put in a claim with royal mail,
This offers tracking that's it, just making it clear nothing else.

Nah, I am finding this conversation to be pointless. RM normally does not honour the claims for items sent none recorded. Or at least in my case they didn't!

I specifically put a description to knock off such arguments or debates as it is always like this when a post is made from Hermes! Yes they are not the best but they are not the worst too. Poundland is not a place to buy quality stuff but still you can find stuff being sold there that fullfill your needs. This deal is handy if: you don't need insurance, you have a car or drop off shop nearby, you want tracking number, you want to save 36p, you can trust Hermes .... Hope this is clear now.

You still have up to £20 coverage on standard 2nd/1st class. I have had to claim a few times in the past and always had it honoured. They do take a long time to respond compared to couriers (Typically up to 30 days) but if you are patient (and persistent if necessary) you can always get your money back (so long as it's not more than £20).

Maybe if you are selling stuff worth £5 or less this deal would be ok though I wouldn't personally risk much more than that for literally zero insurance.

Hermes are OK 99% of the time, but for the wee bit extra the insurance is well worth it.
I was expecting a delivery from Amazon, got home found a card through door stating the item (worth £40) had been put in trailer.
I do not have a trailer but my neighbour (Good Guy) does, still no sign of parcel, when questioned by his manager the delivery driver stated that he had received a signature for the item and the company sent me a copy of an illegible scrawl. You dont need a high IQ to suss out that the delivery driver was at it, the delivery company covered the cost of the claim.
Few days later another delivery from Amazon (£70 Hard Drive) was left in my wheelie bin, luckily it wasn't a collection day.

Good deal, Hermes are actually very good in my experience.
Surprised you have had bad experience with Royal Mail claims, even for un-recorded items, provided you have the receipt and some form of validation of what you sent (eg. an ebay listing & non-receipt messages from buyer) then RM are usually very good about reimbursing.

It was not a sale item mate. It was a present (clothing) which I sent to a relative which was not delivered and I could not claim anything back. I tried to claim it online via the form they provided. However in another case where the item was posted via Special Delivery and was delivered outside the time-frame provided, they refunded me for the price of the delivery only.

Ah okay fair enough. That's pretty bad the special delivery one, especially if it was a time sensitive item like concert tickets or whatever that would be very annoying. Of course I bet in their T&C's says 'not liable for loss caused as a result of this service..etc etc' same old story!

Not quite sure how this got so hot. MyHermes don't offer this exact service. I really don't see what the point of tracking is when you can't claim compensation. I'll stick with MyHermes direct and get tracking, £25 of compensation (not £20) for £2.75.

from my personal experience i would never use parcel 2 go again, the tracking is useless they have no contact number when things go wrong as well. I have had a my parcel missing for weeks now that should have been sent with in 1-3 days express. Avoid parcel2go and use ones with contact numbers who are willing to help you out and find your parcel when things go wrong.
