Probably the best option seeing Royal Mail are striking and losing any credibility they had.

the £50 insurance is good but their pricing already includes a fee for their service which makes them more expensive that others out there, swigs and roundabouts

Nice one, strike or no strike, I still begrudge Royal Mail for charging £3.85 for tracked 2nd class parcels.

Is there any parcel size restrictions with Hermes on this up to 2KG price?

even if it's not posted it will make no difference. Royal Mail collect from the mail boxes. It will only affect people using counter services

Good deal, handy at this time of year, but the tracking is a bit dodgy.

I've been watching my tracking from my work desk 10 miles from home and packages have been delivered to my home and apparently I signed for them. In fact they were dumped on my doorstep and left, one time it was in the rain.

I had a nightmare last time I used myHermes, when they lost two separate packages I sent. Having said that they were pretty quick to admit fault and pay out the insurance

Used them send and had a parcel and had one sent to me in last couple of months.
Service was very slow

If you're using Parcel Hero make sure you weigh your parcel and take a picture or video preferably which shows the address label. Take pictures of all measurements showing the beginning and end of the tape. If you don't you could find your parcel was "randomly" inspected for inspection and found to be undersized. I kid you not. I used this company just once and by chance I did photograph everything as it was a large parcel and I wrapped it outside and didn't have a pen or paper handy but I did have my phone and tape measure. Their collection and delivery service was really good but about two weeks after the parcel was delivered I received an email to say my parcel had been measured incorrectly. I forward my pictures of the tape measure to which they responded that I would need to provide evidence of both ends of the tape, i.e. the beginning and end. Now I shipped this parcel in a branded box for which that item was still for sale on a very well known internet site and guess what the measurements were showing on there. Yes same as mine. I emailed them back to say it is possible for an individual to make an error but I doubt very much the largest online retailer would make exactly the same.

It would appear that I was not on my own with the alleged "selected randomly for inspection message". This left a real sour taste as you can imagine and I was going to recommend Parcel Hero to my boss for our works carrier. No way. If Parcel Hero want to play this sort of game then I am not playing.

Very same thing happened with me wanted an extra £12 however the person receiving the parcel managed to video it showing size and weight. Parcel Hero were quiet prepared to help themselves from my bank account. Still don't know if it's resolved as not had a reply from them now over two weeks. My advice use someone else avoid these jokers.

They need to be reported to Watchdog. I still have all their emails and my photographic evidence. I said they could take me to court. I said if I had to prove by photograph the declared sizes then by the same evidence, they had to do the same. Obviously they could not and they decided not to proceed. In my case it was only a small amount but it was the principle of it as I knew I had not made a mistake.

I took onboard the comments about after charges. So far i sent pair of brake discs to Harrogate which weighed 27kg and touch wood have not been charged

I think you responded to the old thread and not the latest one. I thought I was seeing things for a minute. I may give them another go under a different sender name and see how we get on. It was a real shame because I couldn't fault their door to door service and cost. My parcel was a whopping 44 kilos. I would have happily paid an extra tenner for the delivery but felt they tried to con me.

THATS WHY MY INBOX LOOKS LIKE A SPAM BOX. THEY SOLD MY EMAIL! AAAGRHHHH.

I would rather get on a push bike and deliver the parcel myself than use this company again.
