these headphones truly suck, even for the money. very poor sound quality, uncomfortable, unstable in your ear weather you are running, walking or sitting still, horrible sticky/rubbery feeling wire. i replaced mine after 2 weeks with some cheap Phillips ones from hukd.

I went the opposite way. Are you sure you didn't get fakes? Cheapo phillips headphones sound awful, where as these have great (if a little bass heavy for some people) sound.

Did you know they come with three different sizes of ear bud in the box? I suspect you are using the wrong one for your ear size. Mine fit fine and stay in as long as I want when I'm sitting and walking. I'm not sure they would be any good for jogging/running, though, as it is just the bud keeping them in.

Likewise think you had fakes (very common on CX300s) - the real deal are excellent headphones and provide sound quality much better that some more expensixe rivals. I'm on my 2nd pair and they are fantastic - and that as at £18, not a fiver !

+1 these are great, I use them - believe me no rubbery feeling whatsoever, pure sound for the good gym workout. I had pro Sony ones, that cost a fortune and they broke in 6 months and these are still solid! Quality and at this price are a steal IMHO

Yours were fakes or not placed far enough in the ear :?
These are superb for the normal price of about £13.99 at Play (in black) and they are original.
Excellent deal

Really ?

I use these on my ipod when I'm at the gym.
Excellent sound quality, and very comfy/
I think I paid £15 or so over a year ago, and thought that was damn good value ... so at a fiver, these are a steal !!

Has anybody checked the Warrington branch... I am heading over there later and could do with not wasting my time if someone has already tried.

You must have picked up a fake or faulty pair, I've been using these for over 3 years and they're fantastic, I'd be gutted if I lost them or they broke. I paid £15 for them, would happily pay that again!!

I don't like these ear canal blocking type of earphones at all. sure they mean you get deeper bass ( providing they are a good tight fit in your ear canal). But you hear every breath and every rub of your clothing amplified in your head , and you cannot hear things around you.

I have a pair of CX500 , and whilst the sound quality is very good , i would never claim they are comfortable and the cable is rubbery.

Phoned my local store in Hove. They did not have any, the chap had a look on computer. He said that there is none in stock anywhere in the country. Then he told me that Dixons in Bognor Regis 20 miles away were showing one in stock. I phoned them and they said they were showing two in stock and went to look for them with no joy. Good luck if you manage to get some.

Thanks. I was going to by Creative ones but will check these out.

I cannot understand the sentiments against rubber coated cables. Rubbery cable is worth paying extra for as it stops the cable tying itself into knots, the pulling during the untying of which tends to stretch the wires within leading to breakage.

Genuine ones are some of the best earphones in the price by a long shot. I wouldn't say the build quality was terribly good as they do tend to fail after a year..

Fakes on the other hand will be awful.

My Creative EP-830s lasted all of 3 months with minimal use..

I could have had them replaced of course but forgot :whistling:

Decent headphones, but terrible build quality, within months (or even weeks) you can expect to lose sound on one side...

Checked the nottingham branch. They didnt have any.

My Bose have broke after a few years use lost sound in 1 ear its a loose connection aint a clue how to fix though!

Shame these are pink!

Can't comment on the ergonomics, but these are great-sounding headphones. Unless you had a faulty pair, I can't see how you thought the audio quality was poor.

Not wanting to willy-wave, but I'm an audio professional (or at least I like to think so :whistling:) and for the price these are hard to beat.

lol well mine lasted a bit longer than that (same fault though) mine died at 13 months. worth remembering that they come with a 2 year manufacturers warranty though

Got a several pairs of these in PC World Aintree a couple of weeks ago at the same price. Had quite a bit of stock in both pink and white then, so might be worth checking.

Incidentally, the Creative EP-630's can often be found on Amazon for around this price too - they are virtually identical save for the shape of the plug on the end. Sound the same too (I have both).

As others have said, fitting the correct size of earbud is vital to get the best sound, but when you do they are very good - certainly the best earbud 'phones I have tried and a steal at a fiver!

I wonder how many people who have broken these wrap them tightly around their player and stuff the whole lot into a pocket - I've seen that done so often and it can't be the best way to treat them...
