might get my cousin a set of these for his bday, and maybe a set for myself incase my c300's pack in

cx 500 whites are only two pound dearer at play.

The CX300s are great but the CX500s are amazing. But be careful of the playtrade sellers. I bought some CX500s which were definately fake, and then bought an original pair from play. Better off spending a few quid extra on Play.

Bought some on the recommendations of people on this site.....good price but poor quality headphones.

are you serious?! where did you buy them from? i bought my cx300s for £18 and i thought it was the best £18 i've spend in my life. for that sort of price i don't think you can do much better IMO

I'm sure my original cx300's are better than my new pair of cx400-ii.

Bought a pair of SoundMagic PL12's recently after seeing lots of positive reviews
on AV forums. Astounding sound for the money. So much so, I've given away my cx300's!

There are lots of fakes. I have a friend who sells on ebay and he says he can get dirt cheap fakes made in China for a few pounds which look and feel totally original-- until they break that is. You can't get 'cheap' Seinnhesers so be wary of a deal that looks too good.

I actually bought these Creative Labs@ £8.85 which are supposed to be similar to the Seinnheisers and have got great reviews everywhere.

Can anyone vouch if these are suitable for the gym? In terms of:

1) Staying in the ears
2) Dealing with 'sweatyness'

Agreed! :)

Mine broke after a month of use. Just about to return them - not the most hardy headphones for the gym. For an fairly decent sound (if a little trebly) i'd try the Creative 630's.

mesh in the earbuds can be dodgy on both the 300 and 500s, otherwise solid buds.

Ordered CX500 rather than CX300 for £15.99 at Play, seemed a good deal for extra couple of quid.

I bought the CX300's for this price a while ago, and they've been pretty decent, though not amazing.

Just got the CX500's for £15.99 direct from Play, and they are much much better, really given new life to the sound on my Iphone. Huge step up from the CX300. Totally worth spending the extra couple of quid. The CX500's are a real bargain.

Though if you're happy with over-ear instead of in-ear headphones, the Koss Portapro's which are kicking about around the £18 mark are a brilliant set of 'phones too.

I just bought a set of these last time the offer was on here, and they sound dreadfully trebly to me - no bass at all. To be fair though, maybe I just have odd shaped ears - they do sound a bit bassier if I shove them in really hard, but then they're hugely uncomfortable! :?
#22
purchased some cx500's from playtrade, however, are fakes! worth paying a few quid more to get genuine items.

I'm the complete opposite, my pair of cx300's are hugely bassy and are the most comfortable fit I've had - even compared to my cx400-ii's. So maybe depends on size of your earhole
