How do you know if play sell fakes or real ones ? I am looking for a pair of headphones that will make my sony walkmen a little louder ..... Thanks
#2
Play.com never sell fakes, it's like asking do Currys or PC World sell fakes. People on "playtrade" are known to sell fakes

Ok thanks been looking "how to tell the difference but it isn't clear"

Does anyone have these ? Are they any good and would they help a little with the sony walkman low sound level ? Lastly are these better than the 300's ?

Thanks as i think these might be worth a try.

Can anyone give me advice. Everytime I buy a wired piece of audio equipment i.e headsets and earphones, the sound always seems to get distorted or lost in one ear after a while. I've bought cheap ones and expensive ones and their both the same. I've looked after them as well. Just the other day my sony MDR's were working fine, I took them off for a second to talk to someone, put them back on and the sound was completely mashed.I had to plug it in halfway to get the full sound. Why does this keep happening?

brilliant headphones........only prob is that they are white and they show up the wax from yer ears when you take them out

The 300's are better IMO

Only difference is the volume control, which usually breaks first.

not just a duplicate.. also a reallly bad deal!
I bought these when they were on offer of 14.99... and if im honest.. Over priced at that.
They have horrible bass, and do NOT cope with how loud my ipod goes regardless of the quality of the track playing..
COLD!

My guess is your using them for running or gym work?

I've had all makes/models from £150 logitechs to £5 sonys. All have suffered from loss of sound in one ear. What happens is, the tension from running etc will internally tear the micro-fibers.

Only solution for myself was use a secure case and tape the wire where it meets the Jack.
The Sennys have a 90 degree join by the jack. This helps a great deal. And for that reason alone, for practicality, i rate the standard 300s above anything I've used.

Cotton buds can help with this :)

I have a pair of these and I had two pairs of the 300's before that. Had them for about 12 months, no problem with the volume control which I find quite handy. Good price.

Yeah I used them for everything but at the time when they stopped working I was walking. I've had loads of headphones at home that have had sound problems as well, including my turtlebeach X1's, which I keep very safe and harldy move. I sometimes only get half the sound so I have to move the wire round.

don't wind the cable round your music player

don't twist the cable into knots

don't get one of the headphones jammed in your car door (as I did a few weeks ago) and crush it flat!

I have headphones which are 20 years old and the only thing I've had to do is replace the foam pads, usually a few pounds off ebay. I manage the cable by gently folding the cable into a figure-eight sort of shape, allowing the cable's natural tendency to curve and slightly twist to make the shape, that way it doesn't put any more strain on the cable especially at the plug or headphone end.

On the very rare occasion the sound has cut, it's usually at the plug end, I chop it off and solder a new one on.

Brilliant for the price. I have these and they can easily cope with the volume of my Sasnsa Clip+ and the base is rather good too. Sound awsome when used with high bitrate MP3's or FLAC files.

bought ultimate ears metro.fi 170 for 11 quid there before. they are on different level to these.

you sure yours are genuine ?....i have no problem with bass and dont really get distortion even when i put the volume control to max and the ipod to max..(Also i have all my music in HQ)

also had mine for ages now and the volume control has not broken...

in comparison to the cx300s (which i also have) ..they have the volume control as already mentioned and sound quality is similar if not the same..

These are off a trade seller. Wouldnt trust them to be real at all. Its well known that fakes have infested the marketplace and if you read online there are warnings telling you to buy from High Street stores only. Got mine last month form HMV, £10 off rrp. Recommend looking there first.

£11.49 now??? is this right?

When you add them it comes up as 'Seller & Rating: dealhunters | 92% positive (from 1114 ratings)'

I bought them from play, all official packaging so i can only assume they are.. but they are actually horrendous!
I can only pass on my advice, but these are not worth the money!

hmm ...seriously i got one from play.com and the cx300 from amazon...both are good and i havent had any problem with them at max volume although as they are in ear i dont really constantly leave them on max volume as this is just excessive...but 3/4 of max volume and they sound really nice..obv not the best but for the price i really think they're good...also small headphones like that ...the bass will never be like huge...
