Tempting stuff.

This is probably a really stupid question but will these work with an iPhone?
#6
I prefer the Goldrings personally.

Im using these earphones are the moment and can't find a comfortable head, but found the soft tip things the Goldrings come with are perfect.

Goldrings do have awful build quality though.

Yeah they will as iphone has a standard 3.5mm jack for any headphone connection.

Heat/Rep given!

Ordered a pair a few weeks ago @ £17.99 from Play, which my Nephew had off me as an upgrade to his CX300's. Just ordered another pair @ newer lower price of £16.99 a couple of days ago. :-D

It's amazing how cheap Play can sell some of these Sennheiser headphoned when you compare both retail prices and what other e-tailers charge!
Thanks.

I've been looking at a few forum threads elsewhere on similar matters... These two look like they might be useful for you

http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8404

Has general recommendations for cheap-ish headphones, earphones and ear canal phones (which they refer to as In-Ear Monitors, or IEMs)

http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69

Specifically looks at ear canal phones at various price ranges

Disclaimer: - I'm not affiliated with them, or even a member there... But they sound like they know their stuff

A pound cheaper than when I got it, heat added

I have the cx300 (lower end model) and can honestly say they are the best headphones I have ever owned, I have had alot of in-ear headphones in the past and the sound quality including bass reproduction of these is superb. I listen to alot of rock/metal and they are still going strong after a year and a half.
#13
what makes the Titanium ones £10 more expensive ?

They look exactly the same ?

The original iPhone has a recessed socket, I can't use my Shure's on it without buying an adaptor.

great headphones, ramp up the treble on your ipod

shame they dont stay in my ears, even with the smallest pads lol

Yep, same for me. I'll be buying these as my wife has stolen my CX 300s. They have lasted a long time, they are light and the sound is great.

Should I get a pair to replace my white pair? they are changing colour : ( was a bad call to get those!

They seem to be exactly the same, colour is the only difference.
This looks like a real bargain, tempted to get a pair for 'out and about'.

Got a pair when they were on here before a few months back (think they were around £25) and I was very impressed. Lost them recently so have ordered again. Great brand, great headphones.

My CX300s have the slimline 3.5mm jack that fits my 2G iPhone, but sadly the CX500s I bought to replace have an oversize 3.5mm. Will hang onto them for the inevitable 3GS upgrade.

The practicality of a recessed headphone socket aside, the slimline 3.5mm jack is so much neater than the pointlessly chunky one you normally see.
#25
In the past 2 years I've got through 5 pairs of CX300's. They have really shoddy build quality and one of the ears always stop working about about 5 months. The quality is so good that I buy them over and over again.

Hopefully Sennheiser have worked on the build quality for the CX500 whilst keeping the same sound quality, if not even better sound quality. These are a bargain at £16.99 as I was going to buy them for £35 last month. HOT.

Sorry to sound dumb, but are you saying it won't fit the iphone 3g ?

just bought a Sony Walkman NW-Z-A729, anyone know if the ex headphones that come with the walkman are good, and if these work well or better than shipped ones on the player?
#28
bought these 2 weeks ago, don't think they sound as good as my old CX300s - not sure if its the volume control (variable resistors are never good). dissappointed. btw my CX500s have a unique shaped plug (sticks out further from device), the CX300 had an ordinary headphone plug.. they are not bad just.. not better or a bit worse than CX300. that's mine anyway.

They have the white ones in stock at £17.99 (original price £69.99) black ones rrp is £29.99 - why the difference?

I have the CX300, little disappointed in the length wasn't quite long enough, one earphone has a short length and the other longer, having the player in my pocket I sometimes have to bob my head down or keep my trousers pulled up, I'm about 6ft. Also only one of the earphones clicks in my ear, the other doesn't seem to stay in as well. Hopefully they sorted this out with the 500's

Ah, I see.

Asymmetric cable length, you are supposed to put one behind your head to use up the extra length.

Stop using such deep pockets/buy a belt ;-) I'm not quite as tall as you but my cable reaches to my knees with them fitted...

It won't be sorted out for the 500's you must be fitting them incorrectly. Perhaps your ears aren't quite the same shape/size use different buds for each ear.
Lots of people complain that they don't fit and eventually come to realise they have been wearing the wrong size buds or not putting them in right

Sennheisers carry a 2 year warranty. You could have returned your first pair and had them replaced for free!

My first pairs lasted 13 months, as you say they all seem to die with the same fault. Sennheiser said the newer MKII CX300s SHOULD have fixed this problem unfortunately they sent me another pair of MKIs

ordered these last week for £16.99 from Play. Beautiful stuff.. I walk to work quite a bit and these earphones drown out the traffic noise for me so i can listen to my sweet sweet music. And comes with a whole range of earbuds so you can get the best fit!

Thanks Edi

bought a set ,

Cool thanks.
#37
Thanks ordered, great price!
Saw these for £30 in hmv, was curious as I find pretty much all headphones uncomfortable and they never sit at the right angle to get the purest sound - hopefully these will do the trick as they are cheaper than plastic surgery!

cracking pair of 'phones at a cracking price - hot from me.
I have these and prefer them over my Shure SE110s which cost a bit more. Can't go wong for the price, soooo much better than bundled iPOD 'phones!

Perfect timing as lost my (excellent) shure e2c's

Be interested to see the quality comparison.
