Sennheiser HD 202 £17.99 @ Play

I bought these from expansys for 19.99 and that was amazing, but 17.99 you would be dumb not to buy the bass is something else.

I know I will get slated but I own the HD595 as well, and I prefer these.

17.99 is amazing, and sorry if posted lately, could not see anything.

I got my HD 595 for 69.00 about 2 years ago, amazing deal. but like I said these are so comfortable and great quality.

Great price :)

Genuine??
#5
They are from play. direct
#6
Same price on Amazon if anyone doesn't like play.com ;-)

I have had this exact model for a couple of years now and I'm well impressed.

Great Price, Same On Amazon £17.99 Depends Where You Want To Shop Really. One Thing About Amazons Information Though They Are Listed As Sennheiser HD 202 II. So im not sure if this is a second generation version of the headphones like Sennheiser do with other models CX300 II for example. But still a great price

Go on the web there is no second gen. I looked for about 1 month before buying as was not in a rush, this is the only pair.

I bought these back in Feb'10 for £19.99 and they are outstanding for the price..... Thumbs up

Cheers

They're now £22.10 on Amazon

I got these for £12.99 last year (genuine, Amazon) - bargain. I still carry them with me. Good for listening to lectures with.
#12
£22.10 on Amazon again.

Just like the Harry Potter Blu-ray boxset the other day when they matched HMV - you have to be quick before Amazon stick their price straight back up again.

How on earth you prefer the 202s over the 595s is beyond me! I've got the 555 and 202s, 202s are perfect for outside use but indoors 555 kills 202!

I want this so bad to play live but no microphone.

Just prefer the bass, I think I might need a headphone amp for the 595, but have not bought one

I got these off play for this price about a year and a half ago. Amazing headphones.

You can always do what I used to do with my HD555+Xbox setup. First wear the default xbox headset, and then put on the 202s. OR you can always buy a Zalman mic clip and attach it to the cans.

Have a look at the Fiio E5 I use it with my Goldrings, really does help to power the headphones correctly. Currently $18 from dealextreme.com

Really depends on how much you're willing to spend. Go for the turtle beach x1/x11/x41 if you want something simple. Otherwise I would recommend a Astro mixamp + Turtle Beach HPX/Sennheiser PC350 setup.

Would the sound quality be better than Bose QC1. especially on train/plane etc.

thanks.

I have a budget of around £60 my son is almost 11yrs but complains about all the background noise due to aspergers whats the best i can get for this?
#28
Thanks OP - just invested in a pair as I have a much longer train commute starting in January and could do with something a bit better than some cheapo in-ear rubbish. I hope they're as good as everyone says! :)
#29
Got these a little while back. Pretty good performers for the money. Mine did eventually stop working though but I wasn't surprised as they were getting a fair bit of abuse on my electronic drum kit. The wire is really really long on these things!

I very much doubt it, and a million times better? I've told you a trillion times not to exagerate!
I'd stick with the Bose, if they've lasted this long. I know price isn't a true resemblance of quality but it's a pretty good indicator. A £200(ish) pair of headphones vs a £30 pair, the £200 pair are probably going to be better.

I've got one for my walkman, I've also got some 300Ohm HD600s and this little amp is capable of powering them.
#32
Thanks....didn't realise there was anything available like this.

Can the amp be used with say an iPhone / MacBook .etc

Thanks

twe !! are you the guy on Head-Fi and AVForums who gave me advice on the Goldrings before? :)
If so, we are living parallel lives :)

Thanks. Another pressie sorted. :)

got 'em for same price over a year ago (off play), don't think it's a price you won't see again. still i find most headphones uncomfortable (short hair/large ears) but these are both comfortable and fit my ears well keeping the sound in, the headband isn't painful or even noticeable and they adjust easily and don't slip much (may sound cliche but there are times you can forget you are wearing them, except the wire running from your head).

great sound quality and bass, plus i can tell sound directions in FPS (l4d2, tf2) so i highly recommend them, they don't scream high quality to me but for the price i am satisfied for everyday use.

addendum - bonus points for really long wire with a plastic wrap thing with a clothes clip that means flexibility and no messy ropes of cables around
#36
Are these any better than the HD201?

It will mostly be used for listening to rock and playing guitar... I think I like to hear the bass in music, but probably nowhere near as much as some people...
#37
Are these the HD 202 II? I ordered them from Amazon for the same price.
