Play have taken a bit of a knocking over the last six months or so about customer services and annoying errors. A post on one of the threads here indicated some management changes may be responsible. Should mention my personal experience is having made two or three purchases from them in that time with no problem.
There was a Play offer of Sennheiser IE8s that left customers unhappy because they came without accessories without warning; believe they were genuine item though. They were still a good deal but I guess "falsely advertised" if you like.
So FWIR Play themselves don't have a reputation for providing fakes. Could always happen; someone doing a swap somewhere down the supply line for example. Maybe you have a link which indicates otherwise?
As regards PlayTrade, that is a completely different area where, like Ebay, unscrupulous sellers are able to ply their trade. Not sure how much protection Play themselves offer if there is a problem (maybe someone could help?).
The Goldring NS1000 headphones are on offer direct from Play rather than a trader, so I myself would be more than happy to order those. It's a much recommended deal here on hotukdeals.

thanks for the assurance. will order from play.

If you order from play.com directly and not the marketplace you get the real thing. I bought this headphones they are brillant. Very very long lead great for playing games if you are not playing on line and need a mic.

Bought a year ago, still good.

These are an absolute bargain at this price. Have no fear buying from Play, just steer clear of the market place if you're worried about fakes.

I've had a pair of these for years, highly recommend them. Excellent sound, and they're closed so the sound doesn't leak, means you can crank up the volume and nobody will know you're listening to Coldplay.

Nice deal, costs me £15 for a replacement cable for my 212's. Its about time I had some new ones.

These brilliant headphones! Got them 4 weeks ago when they were last posted! Use them more than I thought I would! HEAT!
#14
One of my best buy in 2010!!! And I thought 17.90 is the best, and Play.Com top it again!
#15
Seeing as everyone loves them so much and I need to replace my current DJ set, I'll give them a try for that price. Heat Added

i paid 17.99 from play.com 3 weeks ago. They re really worth of money. Using them especially when i play xbox360 games. Sound quality is really good.

Few guys at work have these, they swear by them. Infact they can go several hours before and after lunch without taking them off so they're obviously very comfortable.

I wasn't happy with the fake CX500's I received from Play.com last year mind you - that wasn't through a play-trade seller either.

OR.... You can just snap the mic part off your 360 mic and stick it to the side of these babys. Go change ur 360 settings so it plays out audio through speakers too. Works great.

Can anyone confirm whether these are on-ear or over-ear? Good price and I may have to replace my HD200s as they're falling apart.

The headphones are identical, the Mark II has newer packaging so get the cheapest - Play.com in this case.

Thanks mate, ordered :p

Had these headphones for about a year now, I use them for dj'ing so the 3metre cable is perfect for me but if you are going to use them for a mp3 player out and about then these are far from ideal. The sound does leak from them though and is a pretty loud leak at that and they are a bit on the bassier side. Would highly recommend these for dj or in house use, and a bargain at this price, heat added

Mmmmm, ok headphones, however the Goldring DR50's have a nice sound over these if you can cope with 'open' headphones and they are only £19, well worth the extra!

As some one posted above, the Goldring NS1000 can be had from play at £50. The NS1000 headphones retail for about £150 and are actually about £99+ everywhere else! They are closed and have noise reduction too.

Not a bad find on these though.

How many times is this going to be posted?

There have been 3 deals on these headphones since you joined, this one and 2 others at £17.99 therefore this is cheaper. Strange comment.
#33
