These high-end Sennheiser HD 555 Headphones feature a clever internal surround reflector to generate an extended, spatial sound field, making them great for home cinema as well as music.

The Sennheiser HD555 Headphones include a number of sophisticated technologies, enabling them to deliver superior audio quality. They feature an innovative "Eargonomic Acoustic Refinement" (E.A.R.) design, which channels the audio signal directly into your ears. Their Advanced Duofol diaphragm technology almost eliminates standing waves inside the capsule.

The Sennheiser HD 555 Headphones are also exceptionally comfortable to wear, thanks to their lightweight aluminium voice coils (which also offer high efficiency and excellent dynamics) and velour ear pads.

**Thanks to martinwakelin for the headsup in the Sennheiser HD 407 Open Headphones Thread**

I guess because the price ends in .97 that these are most likely a clearance item and MAY be available at Dixons too.

Two year guarantee on all Sennheiser products I believe. And the headphones have user replaceable parts.

You got a bargain.

A picture of a crack that appeared in mine

This is fairly common. The crack appeared in mine around three months ago, but hasn't got any worse since. It in no way affects the performance of the headphones, but I thought it was information any potential purchasers may like to know.

I previously owned a comparable Sony pair, but had to replace them as the wires in those are external and it wasn't long before I lost sound in one side. These, in my opinion, are a much better option and the sound quality is hard to match in this price range.

Btw, the crack looks worse in the picture than it does to the naked eye.
Paid 56 for my 555 (2 years) and 70 for my 595 (1 year), both still in excellent condition.

How much difference in quality between the two? Not that I think I'll be upgrading, very happy with these.
Bought a pair of these last year but returned them - open ear heaphones aren't for me. Fantastic sound quality...lacking in a bit of bass perhaps.
I have a pair of 595s and they have an identical crack (on both sides) as the photo above. It doesn't
effect the performance of course, but I can imagine this must be pretty common if they are in constant use.

Seen lots of these, I didn't have the courage X) I know it's reversible, but I'd only mess it up.
Just looked at my 555's, was amazed to see the cracks on both sides of mine. Oh well.
Just got the last pair in Stirling, running them in now. Cheers poster
These are now down to £55 just bagged myself a pair :D
