You should consider purchasing a pair of Goldring DR150's.

Read a few reviews and what i can find is the balance of Highs to Lows are great and the quality overal is fantastic, but one down point they are uncomfy after long time using them :)

Great pair of headphones, I have had a pair for ages. Used them for long periods playing games and paid considerably more :)
#16
What is the bass like on these ?
#17
I have these, VERY awesome. HOT!
#18
Remember these are open-back headphones. that means there is little isolation - they leak your music out, and let external noise in. Basically these are only really good for using in a quiet environment (e.g. at home).

and you can get them for ~£15?

There's always going to be better headphones for more money. If you really want to know what's good or not there are loads of specialist sites that will give detailed reviews.

I usually wait for something to go on sale. Like my Sennheiser CX500's which I got from play for £15.99 a while a go. and Philips SBCHP460 which i got for 13.99 last week.

The headphones in this deal look pretty decent for the price though. A lot of headsets around the £15 mark usually produce some good quality audio.

Although you can get pretty good audio without paying much. Do not buy unbranded stuff from places like poundland/bargain shops. They are usually very badly made. Not worth the money or the effort.

Another good all rounder for even Cheaper are these http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3385743/Sennheiser-HD-201-Headphones/Product.html I had these for quite a while until i stood on them. Comfortable and great sound. They used them at a gaming competition I took part in.

Our company bought 20 of these just over a year ago for analysts to use for call listening. 50% of them have developed a fault where they only work in 1 ear. However they are used for 7-8 hours every day so I am sure a years use for team is less than a lifetime for anyone else.

One thing to note. If you are using them for PC's then they dont really go loud enough for our use. (Or at least not on our HP's). This could pose a problem for low powered devices such as ipods etc as there are no inbuilt volume controls either.
#21
I've had these for about 3 years now and I haven't a bad word to say about them. They go plenty loud enough when using them with my PC, and find them to have great bass levels. They're also pretty durable as well, as I've given them quite a battering and they still work perfectly!

sounds like a FISH of a deal!

I was replying to a member who said, he's never had anything better than "Sennheiser's". never said you could get the goldring's for 15quid.

besides, why would anyone want to spend 15quid on a poor quality pair of cans? Just dig a bit deeper, cause once you put on a good pair, you'll wonder why you ever bothered with cheap ones.

Mate £15 bargain their £25 cheaper than the cheapest Goldrings and i've heard both and i dont think there worth the extra £25 by anyones standard.
#25
i've heard these headphones have leaking issues
#26
I've heard that only happens if you listen to it on really high volume. Otherwise it shouldn't be much of a problem. But like most things they don't last forever
#27
that's quite a bummer.... i think people would prefer to hear them in a high volume.
#28
I personally can't stand music at a high volume
#29
well i'm not sure about you but i think most people would want to listen to it on high volume.
#30
well then maybe you should go for something like the PX100's or PortaPro's ;)
#31
well i am on a somewhat budget
#32
they're about £18
#33
well it isn't a massive price difference
#34
Any advice on choosing this comapred to the 437 model? For use on trains mostly and at moderate volume. Any advice appreciated!

Leaking seems to be an issue, so out of respect for your fellow passengers I'd pass on them.
