I know this won't get much heat considering how little audiophiles there are in this forum. So yeah. Hope the audiophiles get a good deal this time round :)

ps: next cheapest is still above £50.

Hope this helps! :)

good price for decent cans

Eh? It's getting heat. I must say I'm quite surprised. This will probably the limit though judging by how hot similar deals end up getting. Lol.

But yes, this are really good. I've actually tried them and lord do they sound sweet - and this was unamped!

If you're into rock/heavy metal though...Bass might be a bit lacking.

Got a pair of these and the clarity on them is amazing. Well worth the money and much better than speakers anywhere near this price point.

Can anyone tell me how these compare to Grado SR60. I need decent cans for writing electronic music.

Advice would be very welcomed. the Grado's are £67.95 from Richer Sounds. ;-)

I've the SR60...but can't really do a side-by-side comparison.

The Grados tend to lean heavily towards rock. The bass is much heavier at the cost of details. Sound staging on the SR60 imo isn't too great. It also gets very uncomfortable after extended usage. Sound leaks like hell too. Also, I believe the SR60 gives you fatigue for prolonged usage (ymmv).

I believe the 555's would be a better candidate for an all-rounded pair of cans. Films, music, gaming etc etc. I didn't quite enjoy the SR60 while watching films.

If it's purely for electronic music and the like, you'd appreciate the bass on the Grados more I believe. Though I feel they tend to be a tad harsh at times.

I have a pair of these which I bought a couple of years ago for nearly £100. The sound is very good but I think they are designed more for listening to movies - I believe they are described as a multimedia headphone. The sound is very good and extremely clear and they have this special design which supposedly gives them a wider soundstage. The cable is very long - about 3 metres I think, and the fit is extremely comfortable.
#7
They have a special 'spatial sound reflector' or something similarly jargonful which apparently gives a listening experience similar to decent surround sound when watching movies.

Good headphones though. Good deal too.

these through a good x-fi card = ooooooooooooooooooo!

great price, great set!

I have the 595's awesome cans if you can stretch the dosh go for these if not go with the 555's
#11
brilliant cans for the money. Just make sure you have something better than x-fi to appreciate the sounds outta these.
#12
Not as good as the Goldring NS1000 deal that I took advantage of. About the same price for some amazing headphones that have ANC as a bonus. Still hot though.
#13
Do these sound £30 better than the Creative Fatality ones?
#14
Showing @ £66.99 now.
#15

#16

Oh, for f.....:x

Amazon, I hate you so much.

So within HOURS of posting a half-decent deal, these ***** HUGELY bump up the price. You suck a**, Amazon.

We may as well not bother posting any more Amazon deals WHATSOEVER, so if you need something and do a search for it on Amazon, and it's at a good price, just leave it alone, and then anyone else who actually really NEEDS said item will find it and buy it in their own time, instead of a HUKD post artificially inflating demand, and thus the price for weeks or months to come.

It wasn't Amazon, it was a marketplace seller ;-)

Regardless, the Goldring deal on play.com was better. I think it might still be going, was last time i checked.

Yeah, actually just saw after I posted (my rage had temporarily blinded me, lol) , my mistake on this one, though Amazon DO do this a lot, right ? I'm not imagining things ?

Erm...it WAS from Amazon.

Must have sold out then. But DAMN this deal actually went HOT! I must say I'm quite surprised. Heh.

It was on £60+ earlier in the day by someone from the Marketplace. Then Amazon swooped in and offered the lower price. I can post a ss for the non-believers.

Sorry to those that didn't get it :S

X-fi fatality soundcard is sweet for these mate! have it plugged in through a dts100 for xbox/tv and creative s750 system....but afaik its the x-fi card that does all the processing and gives me the ear candy from listening to pc mp3/movies :)

I purchased these for £56 a few weeks back from amazon, Great for when the missus has gone to bed for watching movies/ps3 etc.

X-Fi does nothing but ruin all sound. There is no 'sweet' processing from any X-Fi sound card. All X-Fi 'enhancements' should be turned off. Processed sound direct from a PC is never very good, it doesn't matter what kind or price of sound card you have.

When you use a sound card for nothing more than to send an unprocesed digital signal (or use nothing except a USB cable) to an external DAC using ASIO drivers as a minimum to listen to lossless sound, then you'll have your 'ear candy'.

X-Fi is utter marketing nonsense and a very good way to ruin your sound.

as others have said - it was from amazon themselves.
amazon is 'terrible' for changing the prices of items by quite large percents multiple times a day.
if you want these stick them in your basket and save for later.
check your basket now and then and each time the price changes you get told.
i have px100 and kossportapros in mine and prices can vary 30% per day and go up and down on the same day.
