Great IEMs, I got the IE80s last year on black friday for around £30 more than this. Probably a bit wasted on anyone using a smart phone or MP3's at less than 320kbps. Sound stunning with FLAC files on an A&K Jr. It's nice to be able to tune the lower frequencies with a screwdriver.

i want to use with smartphone as have momentum for home use. I have albums at 320kps on as card, will they sound OK? Also have Spotify, I think extreme setting is 320kps, also.

Yes you'll be fine, still great headphones, I've had mine for a couple of days and good price, lowest I've seen is £120 very briefly.

I put this to Flubit and got an offer of £119.xx, so I placed the order. Went through Quidco too (when the site was finally up and running) so should qualify for 11% cash back also. The product comes with 2 years warranty as standard too so this is one of those occasions where you can order from somewhere other than John Lewis and not feel that you are missing out. Heat added.

They will sound stunning with any source but there is a noticeable step up if you throw FLAC or even DSD at them. I would highly recommend getting some comply tips too, these create a perfect seal giving the ultimate sound quality. I used medium comply tips on previous IEMs but found them too big on these, the small ones fit perfectly but that's obviously a personal thing...

Agree worth every penny if you appreciate good sound quality

Great price and seriously considering these over the Shure SE425. A question for those that own these, do you consider them to be bass heavy even on the lowest setting?

I would say it's slightly bass heavy even on the lowest setting. It will depend on what you're listening to, if you're listening to bass heavy songs, you probably want to turn to the lowest settings. I pretty much leave it at the lowest settings. Using it on a HTC 10 but with the boomsound off. Tempted to get this as a spare since mine is closing to the end of its 2 year warranty.

I used to own the se425, great headphone and provides more isolation, but it is has no bass just clarity of minds and vocals.
However I own now again the IE80 , they are fun to listen too with wide sound stage ,
Comfort levels and isolation depends on the tips, Shure foam tibs are better , however you can get comply foam. Both headphones are extremely built to last.
I recommend buying them through Jhone Lewis , I had them before through Amazon and they had some cosmetic dots.
Now the Shure are almost £100 more expensive , so I recommend these ,,

Yes they are bass heavy , but the Lowe sittings are still has lots of bass in a perfect way
If you still interested in se425 , I recommend these instead
Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs , almost similar price plus customs (will be more)
If you don't mind the wait,, good luck
