It really depends on your ears. Headphones are always a gamble in this respect. For £4, I'd say go for it.

cant go wrong with that price

these arent proper in ear, despite the play title

I believe nebno6 means that this shape doesn't fit in the ear in the same way as a popular alternative like the Creative EP-630. Personally I find the white earphones that come with the iPod very uncomfortable and while £3.99 for a Sennheiser sounds a good price, I think this shape suffers from the same thing. The Creative has its detractors but I find the rubber covers (supplied in 3 different sizes) comfortable and they expand to fit your ear, having a pleasant "noise-isolating" effect, so you are free to enjoy the music without outside noise intruding and conversely, without leaking that tinny high-pitched to annoy those around you.

Very informative, thank you, you seem well versed, on a good deal, for someone so new, maybe you should 'post' a popular alternative, without leaking that 'tinny high-pitched' to annoy those around you

Long term lurker and beneficiary of many deals - recent poster...I figured that if people were interested they could find the Creatives on Play.com for £5.25 plus free delivery. However, as an earlier poster said, earphones seem to be something of a personal thing and I acknowledged that this was cheap for Sennheisers. I make no claims for the creative price being good, bad or indifferent and they have been posted before on Amazon and Play. Personally I like them and to answer that earlier question, I think they stay in place better as a result of the snug fit if that question was driven by a need to wear them at the gym or running. Oh, and I think I missed the word "noise"...

Anything is better than ipod headphones. Personally I think Sennheiser CX range are amazing and fairly cheap. I wouldn't pay anything for some standard headphones like this any more, noise isolating in-ear (rubber buds) headphones are just infinitely better.

I always find standard headphones such as these have a variety of problems: they never rest easily in the ear, drop out at the slightest movement, hurt the ear after a while, have relatively awful sound quality, leak sound so everybody can hear the annoying tinny beat of your music and you can hear everything around you such as traffic.

In contrast, the noise isolating in-ear headphones such as the CX-300's.etc have brilliant sound, stay in your ears, nobody can hear what your listening to even at high volume, you can barely hear the engine of a bus when your sat on it. An irritation that quickly passes with this kind of heaphone is that your own body movements are amplified, therefore if you eat a packet of crisps it sounds 10 times louder than normal.

VITAL: When buying headphones, always do it from a shop. Most cheap sennheisers on ebay are fakes as are amazon marketplace and playtrade. Even though some fakes do still have good sound quality they break easily and are not as good.

If you didn't have odd shaped ears so they keep dropping out, didn't go on the bus eating a bag of crisps, listening to your music on high volume... (tut tut, you'll have tinnitus when you're older) you'd be fine :)

Ps, how many pairs you ordered.
