Just remembering SWOS on my Amiga........... .those were the days.
#3
I played this on the original Xbox and thought it was pretty good (and i'm a huge SWOS fan). It did have some very annoying bugs though (teleporting keepers!) although they might have patched it on PC.

Basically for 47p its a barg!

Does anyone know if this would work on a Mac?

Nope... it doesnt... http://www.sold-out.co.uk/productSoldOut.asp?pid=599&productLabelID=1

(unless you are using bootcamp)

run out to sidline with ball, between halfway line & box, go diagonaly towards goal, keep finger on fire button, release & pull the joystick in the opposite direction & voila watch ball rise & drop in far corner :) worked a treat.

True that - Amiga, Master System, Mega Drive, one of my all-time faves this game!
#8
Bought the new one they released for the Xbox360 but theres never anyone online, I managed to get 1 game Vs someone in Australia but the connection was terrible and it was all jerky.
#9
This is nowhere near as good as the version that I used to have back in the day when I had an Amiga, but 47p is a really good price.....

its pretty Crap.

the original SWOS though is amazing. its great on Xbox live aswell (get it through the XBLA)
shame it was dumped by codemasters when it could have been amazing.

Works every time! It was the same on Fifa 96 on the mega drive

Doesn't look like it's available for Home Delivery anymore - pity!

None around the Blackpool area either.
EDIT - actually, there are some in Preston.

I was looking forward to a bit of reminiscing too!!!

Nice find though!

its awful ! worth 47p tho !
#16
please please note this is not the classic original game. this is the re-made "new" version - details here.

Hmm...is it? I agree it's awful, I played it hoping it would remind me of the old Sensible Soccer. I wouldn't waste any more of my time playing it, so in that sense it's 47p wasted.

I can't imagine anyone getting much playing time out of this, just seems like a case of buying it for the sake of it because it's cheap.

"You're a goal scoring super star hero..."

Tell me it's got the classic song on it !!!

"...and every goal, goal, goal..."

Sadly I don't think it has, although I can't remember.

I do have a bloody good mp3 version (not entirely sure it's the original, haven't played it for so long) if anyone wants it!

[misty eye nostalgia mode]

Nah. The 'stick' was too tiddly on that one for SWOS. The Competition Pro had bulletproof construction and could cope no problem with my thrashing (ahem). When the microswitches gave up every so often I'd buy a cheapo joystick and cannibalise it for the switches. Simple times ... ;-)

I have it as my ring tone ;)

Don't Forget Quidco

It's a touch obscure but this game doesn't work with certain drive letters used (I think X: was the killer). i.e - if you have a drive X at ALL, it dies.

If it doesn't work for some reason, check your explorer :)
#25
Wow, what a deal

If you want to waste 47 pence that is........
#26
Nah, SWOS was just a "bits stuck on" version of the classic original Sensi-soccer.
What you want for the full old school experience is an Amiga, the original sensi-soccer and a Cruiser joystick ;)

SWOS is still my favourite footy game EVER!! Now they were real games ... it's all about playability and fun, not fancy graphics.

May buy it as a mark of respect, have the european edition of this game on pc, xbox version, and the 360 arcade version so one more to admire on shelf will be ok for less than 50p, i played this so much on the amiga ,still remember coming back from 4 nil down to win 5-4 in 90th minute, then my monitor blew up!
One of the best games ever.

Ah those were the days!

Do better spending this much on an older version of PES for the PC than on this.

The original Sensi on the Amiga was in my opinion the best footy game ever.
Me and my brother and a couple of mates used to have Sensi Soccer nights every Tuesday and those nights were a riot.
I used a Konix Navigator joystick (looked like Captain Kirk's phaser) and my brother used a 'Bug'.

All the footy games since then seem overly complicated and the game doesn't seem to flow.

Sniff, I loved my Amiga 500 and all the contacts I made who supplied goods from the likes of Quartex, Scoopex and Paradox.:whistling:

Alright whoose been watching too much 'Electric Dreams' on BBC4?

Trip down memory lane this might be but FIFA 10 it ain't:giggle:
#33
i liked this game on the xbox 180. yeah it was buggy, but fast and simple. great 2 player game.
#34
SWOS....greatest football game ever.

I once won a 3min game 43-0! God, I loved that game.

This was the joystick my brother had for his amiga, It was a hard Barsteward, hurt your hand after extended plays, Lasted really well though and took a hell of a beating.
