Sounds Cheeeeeeesy To Me !
#4
My fav cheddar!

check out the salt content on this particular brand and you'll start to understand why you can always pick it up cheaply in one or other of the other big stores (sorry, perhaps not what you want to hear...)

Asda also had pizzas on a similar offer today, £2.25 each or 2 for £2. They're in my freezer downstairs, I think it's goodfellas take away pizza, 12". 5 Cheese, Supreme and Pepperoni.

Dont care about the salt content, both Seriously Strong and Pilgrim's Choice Vintage Cheddar r the best 2 in the world

These are BOGOF in Netto for £2.99 (if there is one closer to you than an Asda)

Well, everyone says I'm too skinny...so I guess I'd better start stocking up!
#12
That is plastic cheese.
#13
:) oh well, I suppose there will be a little more time for food reflection on the early deathbed - dependant, of course, on being able to concentrate while munching doritos...

In my experience cheap deals on cheese arise on poor batches. I've been had again recently. Consecutive single packs of Pilgrim's Choice in Tesco have been wonderful. Yet two for the price of one on the following visit were as bland as anything :x

Interesting, never thought about issues of quality control with cheese.
#16
Is it vegetarian approved?

I always buy these from Morrissons or whatever supermarket has them on offer at the time...never had a bad block, and I've been eating this stuff for about 4-5yrs!

i've noticed both of those on bogof at tescos lately, very nice. morrisons had huge 500g packs of them a few months back at a fiver for two, thought it was a misprice!

i'm not so fussed about the salt content but it isn't very nice when every now and again you actually bite into a salt crystal, make my teeth sensitive :-(

If you put it on toast, is it 'ROASTED' Cheese or 'TOASTED' Cheese :?:

The supermarkets seem obsessed with selling 'mature cheddar' at the expense of better quality cheese. Why do supermarkets feel the need to stock often over a dozen brands of mature cheddar? Not that I don't like mature cheddar, but most of these supermarket brands get their 'flavour' from excessive salt rather than a period of maturing.

Not a particularly nice cheese in my experience. If you want something a little tastier try Vintage Canadian (Matured for three years). Most supermarkets stock a version of it - Tesco's Finest range is one of the best.
