Already subscribed with setanta, but can sell the card on flee bay for £10, meaning with 3% quidco the cam is only costing £15.21, not bad.

lol, this place is full of cheap stuff and yet everyone calls ebay fleebay... and I bet many folks from here sell their HUKD bargains on ebay at inflated prices anyway... I've always found that kinda ironic.

Carry on :)

I don't think £10 for this is inflated, it's half price - £10 connection fee, and £9.99 - one month free.

Be aware that Setant'a idea of "one month free" differs from any rational human being. If you sign up with this you will still be debited one month due to their dubious 2 month contract. You only get the free month upon cancellation, which as numerous other threads detail, is a herculean task in itself.

Repped for a helpful and highly amusing post, can you start doing reviews on all deals please, will save me having to watch reruns of John Cleese for my laughs. :-D

Setanta has the worst customer service ever!! It took many phone calls to get my account cancelled. In the end i demanded they take my bank details off their system then proceeded to not pay them until they cut me off.

Just cancel your direct debit and wait for them to call you - takes them awhile and you still have access to Setanta whilst you wait....not that I did that...oh noes ;)

why is it dubious, most other places you have to sign up for a 12 month contract, which must make them even more dubious.

cold voters find it cheaper

It's dubious because there is no reference to it in their T&Cs & unlike other contracts, they want full payment in advance. I think it's reasonable to assume that if you're being offered one months viewing with the package, that you don't pay until the beginning of month two.

Their whole operation is also dubious (IMO) due to the way that they almost without fail, continue to bill the full amount after cancellation or agreeing a reduction. These are claimed to be admin errors which must mean that they are either incredibly incompetent or downright dishonest.

Given my experience with Setanta, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull up in an old van & offer to tarmac my drive. Payment in advance of course.

I have voted cold as there is more to a deal than just price. Although it is cheaper at Tesco with the SIM routine.

I didn't say that price was inflated, did I?

This place is full of morons sometimes...

i've just cancelled my setanta - you have to confirm in writing now but pretty hassle free to be honest. They try hard to keep you (much cheapness for 3 months) but tel them you're moving to a non freeview area and they give up (eventually!)

I've actually just ordered the tesco 24.97 for my toppy....won't activate it till the new season starts and i'll also get 15 quid from quidco :)

Do you have the address to cancel it, can't seem to find it anywhere. I went to cancel it by phone at the end of the season, and was on for over an hour trying to get through was put on hold for about 80 mins, cheers.

What he said.

Just remembered another reason to give these cowboys a miss. When my SETANTA branded CAM failed after two months they denied any responsibility. Now granted the contract is with the retailer but I received mine as a birthday gift so had no receipt. I've never before encounterered a manufacturer refusing direct warranty on their products.

o.k got your point, I know their service is terrible, and I can't blame you, but what choice do you have if you want to watch the football.

Well judging by the awful selection of games they had last season, I'd rather spend a few quid down the pub watching fewer games but ones I actually want to see. I dare say that Sky will have first & second pick of the fixtures again so don't expect any improvement next season.

It's the scottish football I mainly watch. Will keep watching it on tv while the supermarkets still do the cheap beer deals, but might end up joining you in the pub, as according to the papers yesterday the governments talking about puting a minimum price on alchohol for carry outs.
